I am a homebody. I love being at home. Even now I remember the feeling of dread I had as an elementary school child, waiting for the school bus. I liked being at school, but even more, I loved being at home. My mom and my Nana are both the most excellent home-makers. They each have a knack for making even the smallest space comforting and inviting. Growing up in that kind of environment instilled in me a love for home.
Now, as an adult working an 8-5 in an office, I still find myself looking forward to the end of the day when I can come home for comfort. I like my job, but oh how I love to be home! So many women feel a sense of dread when they enter their homes. They see the pile of laundry on the couch, hear the family’s cries for supper, and fear the stack of mail containing who knows what kind of bills. There’s no way around it, being a wife/mom/roommate/whatever is work! Whether you have a family of eight kids, or you’re a single person who lives alone, a comforting home can be a tremendous asset to your life.
It is my goal, through this blog, to share simple tips and ideas to help us all cultivate our homes into a place that we can come home for comfort.
So, start a load of laundry, light a scented candle, and join me!
Hi Whitney, So excited about your blog, thanks to your Mom mentioning in her blog. Enjoyed this about home. I agree I have worked for many years and now retired and get to enjoy my home and the things I love doing there but I must admit lots to catch up on and a big “TO DO ” List but so thankful for this. Look forward to reading your blog. May God Bless You!!!! Betty Wright
