#1 of 10 Things You Need to Know How to Make

I’m very thankful for my mom for many reasons. She is a very patient, godly woman and is a great teacher. From the time I was about 10 until I left home, she always had me next to her in the kitchen. I chopped vegetables, browned hamburger, washed lettuce and sauteed onions – she taught me how to do it and then turned me loose. Not only did my mom teach me how to cook, she got her very own sous chef in the process! She’s a smart one. :)Working alongside Mom I learned the basics of cooking and thus have always been confident in the kitchen. I have realized over the past several years that not everyone was as fortunate to have a master chef as their mother! I’m not a master chef, but I do know how to put a meal on the table and have it turn out most of the time. 🙂 I am going to share with you the top ten things every woman should know how to make. I’ve included a few things I need to master as well, so it will be an adventure!10 Things You Need to Know How to Make Come Home For Comfort

10 Things You Need to Know How to Make #1 Come Home For Comfort
Here we go! I’ll start with the first item on my list, Iced Tea. This is a great thing to serve with meals for two reasons: most people like it, and it’s not expensive to serve! One of my favorite people in the world is Christy Jordan (I like to pretend that I know her, she’s just precious). If you don’t know how to make a good pitcher of tea, Christy explains it better than I could in her tutorial Sweet Tea: The Elixir of the South. If you want to hear her adorable Alabama accent, you can watch her make tea here.

I think the key to great iced tea is adding the sugar/splenda to your water before adding the hot tea. The flavor of the tea is so much better that way.
The next time someone asks you to bring a gallon of tea to an event, save the $20 you would have spent buying it at Chick-Fil-A and make it yourself! 🙂
