Christmas 2013…in the books!

Christmas 2013 is in the books! I hope you had a wonderful time with your family! I can’t believe this was the 4th Christmas I’ve spent with my husband. We made some great memories and enjoyed a rare few days at home together!

On Christmas Eve, my husband’s family came to our house for the evening. I was so excited to host everyone at our still “new” home (last Christmas I was unpacked, but seriously lacking furniture. It’s nice to have a place for everyone to sit!). Here’s the dining room table extended to it’s largest. This dining set belonged to my grandparents. I love having family heirlooms, no matter their market value.

I wrapped little packages for place cards, just using what I had on hand leftover from wrapping presents. Everyone always loves having their name at their seat!

Here’s my charming husband with his brother and sister in law. Paul is the oldest of three boys….Stephen is pictured here, Brent didn’t make if off work in time for the pictures. Sorry, Brent!

The Pendell patriarch and matriarch! I was holding a sweet, squirmy baby when I took this, so please pardon the blurriness. 🙂

And here’s the star of the evening, our almost 6 month old niece. Isabella is such a sweetie!

She even helped her mom win Apples to Apples!

Christmas Day was pretty great, too…

Paul and I stayed home all day, watched a little NBA, ate a lot of Christmas desserts and enjoyed each other’s company. I’m so blessed to call him my husband!!

How was your Christmas celebration? I’d love to hear about it! And if anyone is looking for me today, I’ll be at Hobby Lobby or Target digging through the Christmas clearance. 🙂

    1. there were only two slices left, so I’d say so! If nothing else, it was the perfect entree to make ahead. I didn’t do any cooking on Christmas Eve, I just pulled it out of the fridge and into the oven! Thanks SO much for the suggestion!

  2. Loved seeing your pics…..lovely table and presentation. The little niece, and first grandbaby for the Pendells is precious. Are they enamored with her? We had a great Christmas Eve with the Mays (all of them, and Rachel) Christmas day was a quiet, restful day at home for us. We had Filet Mignon for our dinner with a nice menu to accompany it. Papa did a perfect job grilling it. I made homemade cloverleaf rolls, frozen Waldorf salad and Corn Souffle.
