Liebster Award!

Happy Saturday, lovelies! I was so honored that my new friend Kristan from Lavender & Light nominated me for the Liebster Award. Thank you, Kristan!

The Liebster award is given by fellow bloggers to new blogs that have smaller followings but potential for growth. The award comes with a few “get to know you” type questions that are always fun. I love reading people’s answers to these things…it reminds me of the surveys that used to go around when we all had AOL email addresses. 🙂 Kristan gave me these questions to answer:

1.- What is your go-to look right now?

Right now it’s been pretty chilly with the #polarvortex and all, so I’m enjoying warm layers. Jeans, boots, and a sweater with a scarf gets that done pretty well!

2.- What is the main focus of your blog?

My blog focuses on appreciating and cultivating the comforts of home. I think it’s the best place on earth!

3.- What is your signature scent?

I wish I knew! I’ve never been able to smell. Really. So I have no idea what anything smells like. Weird, isn’t it?

4.- What is one DIY project you’ve had on the back burner for awhile?

To me, getting pictures on the walls is a major DIY triumph…I have several I bought in September that haven’t gone up yet. Maybe I’ll find time this weekend!

5.- What is your favorite thing to cook/bake?

Pasta with homemade cream sauce and Paula Deen’s garlic cheese biscuits. Yum.

6.- Where did you go on your most favorite vacation?

My senior year of college, I went on a week-long whirlwind trip to NYC and DC with my university business association. We got some pretty cool tours of NASDAQ, Wall Street and the place they recycle currency (memory’s a tad fuzzy…that was 8 years ago)…but we took some amazing carriage rides through Central Park AND saw Enchanted being filmed in Times Square. Pretty cool.

7.- What is one thing you’d like to change in 2014?

Honestly, I’m not a “changer.” I’m a “dealer.” Instead of changing something, I just deal with it. Anybody else like that?

8.- How did you get started blogging?

My mom has been blogging for quite a while (check out her blog if you haven’t yet!). She let me guest post for her several times over the years, which definitely got my feet wet and gave me a glimpse into the time it takes to have posts ready every day. My sister and I decided to start blogging last fall, and we jumped in feet first!

9.- What store do you go to first when you are in a mall?

Payless. What can I say? I like cheap shoes.

10.- What was your favorite childhood game?

Sorry! (I assume this is asking about board games)

11.- What is one thing you are grateful for?

I’m grateful for the opportunity to blog! I enjoy it so much. Thank YOU for taking the time to read the things I share. It means a lot that you spend a few minutes of your time with me!
