My Favorite Money Saving Apps

My Favorite Money Saving Apps

You probably know by now that I’m a big fan of saving money at the grocery store. I proudly carry my coupon binder that saves me lots of money every month. I know that coupon-clipping isn’t for everyone. However, there are quite a few mobile apps that are so easy and hassle free, everyone should try them. Some of the features just make your life easier, on top of saving you money! Here are my favorites:

Money Saving Mobile Apps

Cartwheel by Target

There is more than one way to use this app, but here’s what works for me. Before I check out, I park my cart in an empty aisle, open the app and choose “scan product.” Then I scan the bar code of everything in my cart. If there’s an offer available, the app will tell me and I can add it right then. I always save 5-10% on at least one item in my cart. This makes a big difference if you are purchasing larger ticket items – but any money I can save on top of my other coupons and sales is just icing on the cake! If you’re not using Cartwheel at Target, you’re missing out on easy savings!

Southern Savers

I use the Southern Savers website to find the best deals and coupons for my weekly grocery shopping trips to Ingles. All my shopping lists are stored in the app as well, so I’m never in a bind if I leave my list at home. There are many great features of this app – you have to try it for yourself!

Saving Star

If you don’t like clipping coupons, this app is perfect for you. You just come home, choose the deals for the things you bought, scan their bar codes and your receipt – that’s it! My favorite deals on this app are the ones where you spend $15-$16 on a certain brand or product and get $5 instantly. They run this offer frequently for the brand of creamer I purchase! You can cash out when you reach $5, which is awesome. Ibotta is another favorite app of mine, but you have to reach $20 before cashing out or redeeming for gift cards.

Do you use any money saving apps? Which ones are your favorites?

  1. I love all the apps for craft stores – Michaels, Hobby Lobby and Jo-Anns because they have better coupon offers than their mailers. I also use ibotta and checkout 51 for groceries. QBOT is also a good one for discounts on oil changes, restaurants, etc.

  2. Hey! To store my loyalty cards, I use Keyring for android. The few times it didn’t scan, the fault was with the store’s equipment. Case in point was Bi-Lo. When they did an upgrade on their software, there was no problem scanning from Keyring. In any case, even if your app will not scan, the associate can always key in the numbers of your loyalty card. So having them on your phone is still a great saver of space and weight in your purse.
