It’s the first day of fall! I so love this time of year – fall is the beginning of so many fun things! I updated my kitchen and living room decor to a more neutral pre-fall look back at the beginning of the month, and that made my fall decorating a breeze! I kept the decor minimal but I like how it turned out. Let’s start the tour!
I set out a few things in my cozy drop space by the carport door. There’s always a basket or bowl here for Paul’s work keys and extra odds and ends, and I swapped it out for this pretty dish I’ve had for years. (I’m 30 now, so I feel like I’m old enough to use that phrase) 🙂
In the dining area, I swapped out my grapevine wreath for this pretty fall one I picked up in Jonesborough, Tennessee last year. The bottom of the fruit basket is filled with fake leaves that I’ve also had for years.
Moving into the living room, I have a Pinterest inspired display on the piano. My Mom gave me those chalkboard blocks – they are so fun to change out with the seasons! If you can’t tell, those are acorns on the top block. #notanartist
My coffee table is an ode to Target’s dollar spot – both the sign and the candy dish came from those glorious bins! I love using books in decorating – they add height and texture to your display. If the color of the spine doesn’t work with what you have going on, just turn them around so the pages face out!
If I receive a really pretty seasonal card, I’ll pack it away with that season’s decor. I love displaying pretty cards in frames – it’s very inexpensive, and it’s a way to remember the lovely things you receive from friends and family! This card came from my mom (she makes all her cards!) and looks really pretty on the end table in my living room.
I really like hanging wreaths on the guest bathroom door. It helps guests to be confident they are opening the correct door. Plus, it’s a lovely pop of color in the hallway! I made this arrangement with more fake leaves and some berries that I’ve had…for years. 🙂
That’s the end of the tour! I might put out some additional things as we get closer to Thanksgiving, and you know I’ll share pictures if I do! I only set out a few things outside, but click the picture below to see how I decorated my front porch last fall.
Have you decorated for fall?
Looks so nice! I’d never thought of putting a wreath on your bathroom door. Definitely a clever idea to identify the restroom AND a bright spot of color in the hallway. I haven’t been to Target lately to check out their dollar bins but I’ve been wanting to see what they have for Fall. My husband calls this section of Target the Danger Zone because I always find several things to pick up.

Haha! The Danger Zone is so true…if that one doesn’t get me, I get sucked in by all the clearance end caps.
