It’s finally starting to feel like fall in South Carolina! Many of my friends and family woke up to snow on Saturday morning, but we did not. We did, however, enjoy a crisp, cool and very windy weekend! It was so nice to wear boots and a scarf without sweating. 🙂 #southernerproblems, right?
I started my Christmas shopping several weeks ago. I have a storage bin in my office that’s corralling all the items as I bring them home. No matter if you start your shopping early or wait until Black Friday, it’s important and helpful to stay organized with what you’ve spent, what you’ve purchased and how many gifts you need to purchase. That’s why I created my Christmas gift organization sheet. Here’s what it looks like (I changed the names and gifts to reflect a classic show I love…no gift surprise spoilers here!):
It’s easy to spend more money than you budget, especially if you don’t consider every person on your list. I like to list all the people that are receiving gifts, including people like the mail man, hairdresser, or anyone else not in my family that I want to remember.
You can download my Christmas Gift Organization Sheet here.* I like this format because it does the math for me…but if you’re not an Excel fan, feel free to make your own sheet as a Word document – or even write it by hand on some pretty paper!

You’re welcome! I’ve done better this year at buying ahead, usually I wait until Black Friday to get the bulk of my items. It feels good to have so much done!

I hand write my list in the back of my planner each year. I have one for birthdays throughout the year and one for Christmas. My husband and I set budgets for both and then I fill in my list when I’ve purchased their gift. I pencil in gift ideas and write the gift I’ve purchased in ink along with the cost. I highlight their name when I’m done buying for that person. I couldn’t survive the holidays without my gift list 🙂 Plus it’s nice to refer back to year after year so I don’t rebuy a gift for someone.

I have purchased a few gifts myself. I have a Gift Closet that I tuck them into so I do not lose them. A lot of the neat shops in our downtown area are having Christmas Open House this week!!
