Happy Monday! The last few times I’ve shared a picture of my Sunday dinner plate (like this one) I’ve gotten questions about how I make gravy. It’s a little hard to write a recipe for gravy, so the next time I make gravy I will film it and share my process on the blog. Until then, here’s a grocery haul (with a shout out to Ingles’ great customer service) and this week’s menu!
If you want to see my shopping list for the week, click here!
This week’s menu is full of our favorites. Paul asked for tacos and I’ve been hungry for spaghetti. The tomato, avocado & onion salad is one my favorite summertime sides, and banana bread is always a hubby pleaser! What are some of your family’s favorites?

I always watch the scanner, too. Several years ago we got a gallon of milk for free because of that policy. Our store doesn’t do that every time, though. The milk was wrong 4 trips in a row (when it was over $4 a gallon) and they told us on the second time about the policy (because the manager was tending the self-checkout registers that time) & made it free but the other times the cashiers just fixed the price (which I’m totally fine with!). But you would think after all that they would’ve fixed the price. It was about 3 weeks that it was wrong.

I’m always amazed when I catch a wrong price at a big store like Target. I guess we must be in the minority with our scanner-watching!

I am going to keep a closer eye on the scanner now! I think Ingles is a very ethical business to make apologies for their mistake. And I am excited because there is an Ingles in my home town where we are building a get a way cabin so maybe I can shop there when I am on vacay.
