Saving On Household Supplies {Menu Monday}

Menu Plan Monday from ComeHomeForComfort.com

Before we get into the usual Monday discussion of shopping and menu planning – I have an announcement! Yesterday we had roast chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, and I filmed my gravy making process! That post and video will be up on Wednesday, so be sure and come back for that!

This week I decided to show you my Target haul instead of the grocery haul. When we talk about saving money on groceries, it’s so much easier to pick and choose what you buy. If I need sliced cheese but it’s not on sale – we just don’t have sliced cheese for the week. If we need toilet paper…we need toilet paper. Some of those things just have to be purchased! I have several methods for saving on household essentials at Target, and I shared them all along with my Target haul from this week. Enjoy!

  1. I miss Target! Loved seeing your good deals. We are big fans of Target foaming hand soap and often use the Target brand to refill our Dial containers. Great deals on cat items. I’m making my wish list for my next Target trip hoping to pick up some fun things for Fall/Halloween 🙂

  2. Loved this video! Here is my question–how much of a stockpile do you have for your household items? Do you buy ahead if you have a great coupon or do you wait to buy until you need it?

    1. I always try to buy when I see things at a good price. Shopping for household goods at Target often means doing their gift card promos, so I end up stockpiling with those “buy any three…” deals. I don’t have a lot of room to stockpile things like toilet paper or paper towels, but I do as much as I can. In general I try to NEVER pay full price for anything – but there are those times when we just need toilet paper no matter what! 🙂
