High Five For Friday, Friends and Milkshakes!

I took last week off from H54F in order to share my post about our delicious food from Epcot. I’m back with a round of highlights from the week!

1// Monday afternoon I had lunch with a dear friend I hadn’t seen in almost a year! We had a great time catching up (and laughing about our favorite scene from Friends). I know she reads the blog, so hey Julia! 🙂

2// I’m trying to get all my in-store Christmas shopping done before Thanksgiving. So far I’ve done very well with my goal…and I’ve found some great stuff for myself in the process. Ha! It happens every year. (TJ Maxx is my favorite place to get nail polish – I picked up a beautiful L’Oreal polish for $1.99!)

3// Wednesday night I got one of my favorite weekday texts from Paul. I love those words, “I’ll take you out.” 🙂 We haven’t had a Chick-Fil-A date night in a while, and the day their peppermint milkshakes return is one to be celebrated. Even the cats got in on that one!

4// I had some kind of crazy food poisoning (I assume) on Monday a week ago. It took me more than a week to get over it, and I’m so glad to have that behind me! I ate nothing but chicken noodle soup, plain toast and applesauce for about 6 days. I’m slurping down the rest of last night’s milkshake as I type this, so it’s safe to say I’m over it. 🙂

5// Paul did his first solo YouTube video over on my channel! He watches me try over and over to get a video started (those first few words are harder than you think), so he was pretty proud of his one-take video. I think he did a great job, too! Here it is if you haven’t seen it!

Can you believe next week is Thanksgiving? I’ll have posts up next week just like always, so be sure and stop by the blog!

Have a lovely weekend!

  1. Glad to hear your feeling better. Enjoyed Paul Curtis’ video. I think I’ll re-watch it tomorrow with Ella so she can watch Uncle “Punket”! 🙂

  2. Hooray for a sweet lunch date catching up with a friend, Paul taking you out, feeling better just in time for that peppermint milkshake, and for your hubby’s great first solo video! I’m a little behind on my YouTube vids and was excited to give this a watch via your post today. He did a really terrific job!! While watching it I kept thinking what a perfect pair you two make! 🙂 Wishing you and your family a beautiful Thanksgiving!

  3. Isn’t TJ Maxx the best for fun, small gifts for others AND you?? 🙂 So glad you’re on the mend after being sick last week! And just in time for milkshakes. I love the CFA peppermint milkshakes. So yummy! Hope you’re having a great weekend! And happy early Thanksgiving!

  4. Great deal on the nail polish, and Yay for peppermint milkshakes! I still haven’t tried their frosted lemonade. Glad you are feeling better.

  5. Sorry to hear about your food poisoning! That is the worst, but glad you’ve recovered enough to enjoy some CFA. I’ve never tried their peppermint milkshake. I love milkshakes, but am a little leery about the mint. I might just have to give it a try 🙂 Great shopping finds!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend and can catch up on eating some goodies

    1. I don’t think the shake itself is mint flavored. It’s vanilla shake with chunks of chocolate and peppermint mixed in…of course this is from a person who has a very limited taste/smell ability. 🙂 I don’t think it’s super pepperminty. 🙂 Have a lovely weekend, too!

  6. Our Sunday School class is doing Christmas for some young women and I am headiing to TJ Maxx first hoping to find some bargains. They all listed makeup as a choice along with shoes. Hey those girls have their priorities in order!
