1// Snow days! Usually our snow comes once a year and is gone the next morning. This time it lasted over four days! I was thrilled to wake up to a snow-covered neighborhood four days in a row (mostly due to the thick layer of ice at the bottom). These pictures were all taken from my back door because that’s just as close to the snow as I need to be. I love watching my neighbors 4-wheel and go-kart all over the ice and snow but I prefer to stay warm and dry. 🙂
2// Snow days also provide so many opportunities to eat comfort food, like this plate of homemade chocolate chip pancakes.
3// I’m still binge-reading (is that a thing?) through my Janette Oke collection. During our snow days I got a little extra time for reading + kitty snuggling!
4// 6 years ago (1/26/2010), Paul asked me out on our first date. I am pretty sure we’ve gone on a date every January 26th since then. He always texts me to “ask me out” and it always makes my heart flutter!
5// Netflix released the 2nd season of When Calls The Heart! It’s loosely based on a series also written by my girl Janette Oke, and I just love it. It’s romance, drama, mystery and the untamed frontier all in one. So if you need me this weekend, I’ll be on the couch with my laptop (and probably a kitty). 🙂
That’s it for me! Have a lovely weekend!

The pancakes look sooo good and are really making me hungry right now! 😉 Also, I loved the Janette Oake books when I was high school. I felt like such a dork, because no one else my age read them or even knew who she was. I was so excited to see one of her books in the photo of this post! 🙂

I’m not sure which I like more – the pancakes or the “date me” me text ;-).

Paul is a sweetheart to ask you out on a date every year on your dating anniversary! The snow looks so pretty. We only get a random almost snow every few years or so.

How sweet that your husband asks you out every year on your 1st Date Anniversary! That is very special. 🙂 My husband and I had our first date in January of 2010 as well (the night of New Year’s Day), and we go back to the same restaurant every year where we had our first date!
