It looks like we might have a few chilly days this week (read: highs below 55), so I’m taking the chance to get in some wintery meals! We are having a new soup recipe and my favorite slow cooker chili to celebrate winter’s last hurrah. No matter what the groundhog says, winter doesn’t last any longer than February around here. It will be in the 60’s and 70’s before we know it!
My grocery haul went over budget this week, but I am sure I can stay within my total monthly budget. I stocked up on a good bit of meat, so all I will need the rest of the month will be produce and the “must have” sale items that are incredibly good deals. The Super Bowl brings a flurry of great sales on party food – watch my haul below to see what I got!

- Waffles with Peanut Butter
- Eggs & Bacon

Yum! I have neglected my soup recipes and crock pot menus this winter so I definitely need to remedy that before Spring arrives. I think I made chili once and need to make a plan to incorporate more soups these next few weeks. We’re due for snow this week so it’ll be perfect winter dinners.

I like the idea of a last hurrah for winter! Your soup entree sounds de-lish! I’m praying for warm temps very soon! We’re in for snow this week, so maybe this is the last of winter?!

I am thinking of going directly from my Valentine decor to Easter!! A few crocuses are peeping up here and I have seen the daffodils beginning to pop up so they will be blooming before the end of the month. I have enjoyed Winter but I am ready for spring. God is so good to give us four seasons to enjoy.
