1// I hope you had a warm and fuzzy Valentines Day! For us, it turned into Valentines weekend! I picked up a cookie cake with globs of pink frosting on Friday night, and we munched on that all the way through Monday. Sunday we just hung out at home in between church. We ate good food, got Sunday afternoon naps and watched some TV together. Monday afternoon we headed out in the freezing cold for a Texas Roadhouse/Target date and wrapped it up with a movie. It was a great weekend.
2// Speaking of that freezing cold, we had a somewhat freak ice storm on Monday night. There were over 130 accidents in our county and large sections of the interstate just shut down. We saw two people spin out on our way home Monday afternoon, so I’m very thankful we were safely home before the worst of it hit!
3// Tomorrow is the GOP primary here in South Carolina. I’m extremely thankful for the opportunity to vote and will gladly do so as it is my civic duty. But I will be so glad when this is over and people will stop asking me who I’m voting for (and then telling me why I should vote for their choice instead). Ha!
4// Speaking of the GOP primary, last Saturday night’s debate was held here in Greenville at the Peace Center where I’ve visited many times (to see Phantom and Beauty & The Beast, to name a couple). It was pretty cool to see a familiar spot on national TV! I grew up in a small town and that kind of stuff still seems fun to me. 🙂
5// I scored a beautiful white tablecloth at TJ Maxx for $7! I’ve been looking for one to go with my new blue and white dishes, but haven’t found one I liked that was in my price range. This was a “yellow sticker” which you true Maxxinistas know means final clearance – definitely my price range. Look for it in an upcoming tablescape post!
That’s it for me! Have a lovely weekend!

I was at TJ Maxx last night and I SHOULD have scanned the tablecloth section. I picked up a pretty set for Spring a few weeks ago there but a white tablecloth is something I don’t have yet. It will look so pretty with your blue dishes! Can’t wait to see what you come up with. Hope you’re having a great weekend!

I found mine in a random pile of clearance – our TX Maxx had big tables set up in the middle of the store with all kinds of random items marked WAY down. I was excited!

Your Valentine’s weekend sounds amazing! Naps, cookie cake, and Target?! Livin.the.dream! 🙂 I’m not a big political person, but my aunt is, and she came over Saturday night, so we had to watch the debate, and she was also totally trying to sway my vote! Even though I don’t know who I’m voting for! haha! So I could totally relate to your story. Hope you have a great weekend!
