1// I spent last Saturday in Charlotte, NC, for the Influence Network’s first one day conference. The best part of the day was hanging out with Katie from Cup of Tea – y’all, she really is just as perky and hilarious in real life as she is in her YouTube videos! We had a few minutes between sessions and during lunch to chat and get to know each other in real life. It was such a treat!
2// As far as the conference is concerned, there were two speakers that really impacted me. In one session, I was challenged to not neglect the people God wants me to influence and encouraged to continue pursuing certain areas of ministry that God has put on my heart. I came home energized and motivated!
(2.5 Kate from The Small Things Blog was at the conference…I would have loved to have met her, but so did everyone else and she was always surrounded. Also it was super windy and I couldn’t let THE hair girl catch my hair in such disarray. LOL)
3// I couldn’t pass the outlets on the way home from Charlotte without stopping. I popped into the LOFT outlet and came home with a couple new pieces for spring!
4// This is a good time of the year for my TV shows! Right now I’m loving When Calls The Heart and Call The Midwife. Both shows have potential for ugly cries – especially Call The Midwife. Oh man. Sometimes I have to follow it up with an episode of Seinfeld so I don’t end up crying myself to sleep. #truth
5// I’m looking forward to a nice, quiet weekend at home – my favorite kind of weekend! I have a lot to do in preparation for a super busy couple weeks coming up, and I cherish chunks of time at home.
Here’s my question for you – what are you watching and loving right now? Any Call The Midwife or When Calls The Heart fans out there?
That’s it for me! Have a lovely weekend!

I am glad you had such fun at the conference and that you found some encouragement! I also love “When Calls The Heart”. It only started showing last summer in Canada, so I am quite behind! It is a sweet show.

Although the costumes and makeup are SO not accurate for the period, I do love that some of the actors are Canadian. That makes it feel a little more authentic when I hear those accents. 🙂

It was such a fun time! I could do that conference/meet up all the time! And your comment about Seinfeld post-CTM crying is so true. CTM is SO good, but oh so emotional!!

That conference sounds like a great one to be at. How fun that you got to meet Katie! I love When Calls the Heart too, and the other show I like for a good laugh is Last Man Standing. I haven’t watched Call the Midwife for the reason you mentioned. I just haven’t been into the sad, serious shows lately. My heart just can’t take it. LOL Enjoy your quiet weekend!

I’m so glad you had such a fun time at the conference! I love meeting up with bloggy friends IRL so I’m a little jealous of the Katie + Whitney hang out 🙂 I figured Kate would be a popular celebrity sighting and lol’d at your windy day hair comment. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous up here so I hope the same is true for you. I’m currently watching The Voice, random TLC shows, The Goldbergs and my share of toddler pleasing cartoons.

Love Call the Midwife! The books on which the show is based are on my bookshelf, waiting to be read this summer. I watched When Calls the Heart last year, and although I liked Jack and Lori Loughlin’s character, the other characters were not appealing to me. I prefer the When Calls the Heart books.

I’m re-reading When Calls The Heart right now – I think I last read that series in high school. It is definitely better than the show, as are all her books. 🙂

‘When Calls the Heart’ and ‘Call the Midwife’ are my favorite tv shows right now! And yes, I can never seem to get through an episode of ‘Call the Midwife’ without either happy or sad tears – sometimes both!

I am sure Kate was surrounded Whitney…love her blog. I love Call the Midwife but I have to admit I liked the early seasons much better. I miss Jenny, who was on the first three seasons. This week, I was crying with Sister Angelina as she admitted she had forgotten her calling and was spouting off on her own! I think we all fall into that particular pothole in life. I have never attended a bloggers conference, I may have to put that on my bucket list.

Just realized the blog I liked named Small Things is written by Ginny! Similar names…Will go and visit Kate’s blog in the meantime!!

I miss Jenny and Chummy too this season! I liked the Midwife cast much better early on, but the general story lines are still SO good!
