5 Things on Friday {5.27.16}

1// Every year our city hosts a celebrity golf tournament, and it’s so much fun to head downtown after the round on Saturday to stalk look for celebs! There were a few that I specifically hoped to see this year. We hadn’t walked 4 blocks from our parking spot before we passed Bill Engvall! He was on my “must see” list – I loved him on DWTS! He and his wife were very gracious and it totally made my day that they stopped to talk with us, even if was in the middle of the street. We also saw Alfonso Ribeiro but didn’t get to meet him. I was basically in DWTS fangirl heaven. 🙂

2// I have an official favorite ice cream flavor (at least for this summer). Friendly’s Black Cherry Chocolate Chunk is almost as good as the chocolate covered cherry flurries from my childhood. If you like the flavors of chocolate and cherries, you have to try this one!

3// Call the Midwife season finale…oh my goodness. [SPOILER ALERT] I was in full sob mode from almost the beginning of the episode! I didn’t expect Sister Evangelina to die so suddenly after returning to the show! That show just touches my heart in a way nothing else does. I can’t wait for next season – Chummy’s coming back!

4// My cats really think they are entitled to everything in the house. I’m happy to spoil them – they aren’t humans, so I don’t have to worry about how they turn out. LOL. In the picture above, Thelma Lou is watching Paul eat his cereal (and waiting for her turn at the milk).

5// I don’t think I’ve introduced you to one of my favorite YouTubers – Mrs. Erica! She is the sweetest lady from Alabama who juggles her home, family and career with such Southern grace and charm. Erica is a firm believer in using nice dishes every day and is always looking for ways to make things special for her family. She inspires me every time I watch a video!

Here’s my question for you – if you could meet any celebrity, who would you want to meet?

That’s it for me! Have a lovely weekend!

  1. Wow, you hit the DWTS jackpot! That would be fun to run into celebs in your own surroundings. I’ve never met anyone while just out and about, but I’ve been at meet and greets before/after concerts. My bucket list artist to meet was the Backstreet Boys (yeah, I like boy bands 🙂 ), and I met them in 2010 before a show in Kansas City, MO. Well, it was only four of them, as Kevin was on hiatus. 😉 It was so fun to meet a group I listened to for years, and I’m so thrilled that they still make new music! Can’t say that about many of the boy bands from the 90s! I’ve also met singers Clay Aiken and Dierks Bentley, and both are super nice guys!

    Season finales of shows always make me a bit sad, even if I know they are coming back in the fall. Kind of strange, huh? I’ve been a fan of the show Gilmore Girls, so I would be thrilled to meet the cast of that show. Stars Hollow seems like such a lovely place to live!

  2. I love your celebrity sighting story! We used to head up to Park City, UT for the Sundance film festival to spot celebrities. We saw Seal, Heidi Klum and the Judds. I’d love to meet Taylor Swift, Peyton Manning, or have a playdate with Princess Kate and her kids. Kevin and I always play a would you rather game and give two celebrity sighting options 🙂 Your kitty stories make me laugh and especially that part about not having to worry about how they turn out. haha Hope you’re having a great holiday weekend 🙂

  3. Thanks for the tip on Mrs. Erica. I am always looking for quality people to subscribe to. And totally agree about Call the Midwife. I just loved this season, like all the others. I inevitably cry in each and every episode. have a great weekend!

  4. Isn’t it fun to meet or even see celebrities close up? I have met a few in my time and it was lovely. I cannot think of anyone at the moment who I would like to meet…probably anyone on The Office or Big Bang Theory. We are going to see Harry Connick jr in concert soon and I am looking forward to that. As for Call the Midwife…I could not believe that either Whitney. I loved Sister E, she reminded me of some old Army nurses I have known.lol

    1. I would love to see them taping TBBT – it always looks like they are having so much fun on set. The other celeb on my list last weekend was the guy that played David Wallace on The Office, but I never saw him. 😦
