Because Marriage Matters {July Recap}

Things we did in July because Marriage Matters via ComeHomeForComfort.com

Each Monday I post a picture on Instagram with a snapshot of something we do because marriage matters. You can read more about why we do this on my first Marriage Matters post. Having a strong and happy marriage doesn’t just happen – it takes work!

Each month when I share my roundup, I also like to share a blog post that really spoke to me concerning marriage. Bekah’s post titled The Fight gave me seven practical things I can do to intentionally build up my marriage. And doesn’t the title just make you want to click over there and see what she and her husband fought about? I know you do. 🙂

Here’s a recap of my #MondayMarriageMatters posts from July!

If you didn’t figure it out from the post about things being made bearable by love, I’ll go ahead and tell you that this wasn’t a particularly warm and fuzzy month for us. There were some rough moments where we had to remind each other that we’re on the same side! 🙂 Marriage is work, and work isn’t always fun or pleasant. At the end of the day (or the month), I’m still extremely thankful to be married to my husband. I love him more today than I did yesterday, and I’m ready for another month of choosing to bear all things and holding him forever in the light!

I hope you’ll join in the #MondayMarriageMatters challenge – of course you don’t have to post it on Instagram unless you choose to do that, but I love seeing what you share! There are over 100 posts under the #MondayMarriageMatters hashtag – head over there for some great marriage advice!

Take a moment this week and do something special for your marriage – because it matters!

  1. I really admire your Marriage Matters series, as a lot of people seem to throw in the towel when the going gets tough. Marriage somehow gets glamorized into a “fairytale” these days, and that’s just not realistic.

  3. You sweet thing! Thanks for sharing my post. I’m glad it spoke to you. Marriage can be tough, but I also feel like it’s the one place where all the work seems to be so incredibly rich and rewarding. You do a great job of inspiring women to pursue their spouse.
