Have you ever seen a beautiful home in a magazine and wished for a moment that you lived there? Many times those homes are totally impractical for our lifestyles, having been staged for photography, but they are truly picture-perfect. I love setting a beautiful dining room table because it allows me to create one of those magazine worthy moments in my home!
Last winter I tore out a page from Victoria magazine that featured a romantic gold and white Christmas Eve table setting. A few weeks ago I discovered that page in my Christmas inspiration folder and was excited to realize I had all of the components (minus the ginormous chandelier) to recreate the look! Here’s my take on Victoria magazine’s gold and white table setting!
In the video below I’ll give you a tour of the table setting and show you how I layered the table, from the tablecloth to the centerpiece!
One winter during high school, I visited my Nana and Papa in Kentucky for a couple weeks. Nana and I spent hours in their cozy library, reading Victoria magazines and listening to Rod Stewart’s Great American Songbook. This table setting reminds me of that visit – cozy, romantic and full of beautiful things that I love!
Do you ever eat by candlelight? I hope you’ll try it!
I love the setting- I love the tablecloth – where can I purchase one? Thank you

I got mine at TJMaxx on clearance – that’s the best place I’ve found for things like that.

What a gorgeous setting. This would make for a wonderful way to make date night at home a bit more festive, too.

Everything looks so warm, cozy, and inviting! And I can just picture you and Nana in her library with the Victoria magazines and Rod Stewart in the background! Maybe we should move Christmas to your house? 😏

First of all, I love that you have a “Christmas Inspiration” folder. You are the best. Second, I love gold and white Christmas decor. It is so soft yet rich, cheerful and festive. My grandmother gave me some of her china and it is all white and gold. I found that, in addition to being beautiful, food looks so beautiful on it! I love your gold chargers. I must have missed where you said those are from? I only have black chargers, so they don’t work for the holidays…

My chargers are from Kirklands, but I’ve seen gold ones at Hobby Lobby and even Dollar General! And yes, I have to have a folder to keep those things…because I’m not naturally creative! I need someone to inspire me. 🙂

Candles make everything prettier….especially on those dark winter days. I love that you were able to use what you had to create a beautiful setting.
