I know you’re probably all settled into 2017 by now…but if you’ll indulge me for a moment, I need to recap 2016! Every year that I’ve blogged I’ve done a recap of the previous year, and I love having these posts to look back on from time to time. So here in no particular order are my top five highlights from 2016!
#1 My parents’ 35th anniversary party
My sister and I had so much fun planning and hosting this event! We got to honor our parents, see a lot of our family, spend time together, eat good food and do a bunch of shopping. It was a great weekend!
As indicated in #1, I love planning events! This year for Thanksgiving we hosted Paul’s family in our home. I enjoyed every bit of the planning, cooking, eating and giving thanks that goes along with this holiday!
#3 Expanding My YouTube Channel
One of last year’s highlights was starting my YT channel, and I’ve enjoyed it even more this year! If you’re not already subscribed, I would love for you to join me over there (come on 1,000 subscribers!!). I upload new videos at least once a week, and sometimes they aren’t mentioned on the blog. Two of my favorite videos were My Morning Routine and my Thanksgiving Day Vlog.
#4 Spending Christmas In Tennessee
This was the second Christmas that my sister and I celebrated Christmas at our parents’ home with both of our spouses, and it was such a special time! The six of us laughed and talked and enjoyed being together so much. I wish it could have lasted for days!
#5 A year of working part time
I am grateful for the opportunity to work (at a job I enjoy) and help support our financial goals. I am also grateful that I work less than 30 hours a week, giving me plenty of time to devote to my home and the blog!! My home life is always my number one priority, but it’s so nice to have lots of energy for those things!
I also got to meet Katie and Della IRL this year, I heard my mom speak at The Wilds Ladies Retreat, attended two other really great conferences, snuggled with the cats and enjoyed another year of marriage. We didn’t travel or take any vacation this year, but I still managed to have a lot of great times. Thanks for coming along on this adventure with me!
Have a lovely weekend!
