It Was Always Redemption!

God’s plan was always redemption.

The things we celebrate this weekend – Good Friday and then Easter Sunday – they aren’t just days that happened in distant history. They are the two events around which the rest of human history revolves! As I’ve read through the Bible this year, so far I’ve read from Genesis to Joshua (Creation to the Israelites taking the Promised Land) and through two of the Gospels, Matthew and Luke. Throughout each person’s story, a theme is so evident.

Through the early days of man until God destroyed the earth by flood, His plan was redemption.

From the trials of Joseph’s life to the rescue of Abraham’s race from famine, His plan was redemption.

From the captivity of God’s people in Egypt, across the Red Sea and through the desert to the conquer of Jericho, His plan was redemption.

From the virgin birth of a baby until His cruel death on a cross, God’s plan was redemption.

From before my parents knew I existed, God’s plan for me was redemption.

From before your parents knew you existed, God’s plan for you is redemption.

“But God commends his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Mercy there was great and grace was free

Pardon there was multiplied to me

There my burdened soul found liberty

At Calvary!

I never want to stop coming to the cross! The best part is that even though Jesus died, He lives to give me the hope of eternal life and to fill my life with joy!

Happy Easter!
