Five Pictures on Friday {Memorial Day 2017}

Happy Friday! Last weekend we decided at the very last minute to spend the long weekend with my grandparents in Kentucky. It was such a good decision! Paul and I had so much fun driving up and back together, and as always we loved the time we spent with my Nana and Papa.

I always struggle with looking like a frumpy redneck when I travel. LOL. This time I finally found something that was both cute and comfy! This dress is from Old Navy and might be something you saw while picking your children up from school. 🙂 Also my legs really are that white and I’m okay with that.

We took our time stopping for lunch at Chick Fil A on Saturday and even hit up a Dollar Tree before getting back on the road!

Nana made a special supper for Paul – she really loves him! 🙂 Hot Dogs and Mac & Cheese made him a very happy man!

One of the perks of visiting my grandparents is getting to see Tif! She and Kane met us for lunch after church on Sunday, and it was so good to catch up with her!

I am the person I am today in no small part because of my grandparents. They’ve had a tremendous impact on my life and I love them so much! (Aren’t they precious?)

How did you spend Memorial Day weekend?

  1. So jealous of your trip, as my grandparents have all passed! Definitely a great last-minute decision to see them! 🙂 Mine always used to bake cookies when they came to visit, and they packed them in a green Tupperware container, which I now possess. Such great memories!

  2. What a fun weekend! Your travel dress is so cute! I love it! I really enjoyed your ‘From My Heart Friday’ video. I really hate that “question”. Having struggled with both infertility and miscarriage it often a really painful subject for me. I also agree that it is far too personal of a question. Thank you for talking about it in your video. Have a great week!

  3. Cherish your grandparents and parents while they are here( as you obviously do)! I still miss all of mine so much but am so glad I have pictures and memories to look back on years after they’ve gone. I want to be the kind of grandparent that my 7 granddaughters will cherish and want to spend time with!

  5. What a great road trip outfit! It looks so put together AND comfy. Glad you got to getaway for the weekend. I’m sure your grandparents loved having you visit. Doesn’t it feel good when people fix special food just for you!?! That’s really thoughtful. Your lunch with Tif & Kane sounds like a blast. Glad you had such a fun week

  6. Hi, Whitney. I was just reading Bright on a Budget’s post and she mentioned you are in SC, so I clicked on over to check out your blog. I was surprised to discover you are located in Greenville, as I live in Spartanburg! It is always nice to have little introductions to fellow Carolina bloggers. 🙂
