5 Things On Friday {10.6.17}

from my $5 goodwill challenge

#1 I made this pumpkin pie bread recipe from Francine Bryson’s Blue Ribbon Baking from a Redneck Kitchen cookbook. Let me tell you, it is pumpkin perfection. It’s just pumpkin bread – it’s not super sweet, it’s just perfect. You only need one bowl and it comes together in less than 10 minutes. It reminds me a lot of my mom’s pumpkin muffins that I also love.

#2 If you’re looking for the perfect neutral nail polish, here it is! It’s Sally Hansen #146, Stand Storm. I love it!

#3 We got new floors, mirrors and light fixtures in our bathrooms this week! I can’t wait to share the finished product once it’s all done. We’re more than half way there!

#4 Paul and I painted both bathrooms before they installed the flooring. This was an adventure in home repair, marriage and life all in the same day. Ha!

#5 Want to see my fall capsule wardrobe? It’s live on my YouTube channel today – click here to watch it!

Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I’m hoping to work on the bathroom project, and it looks like I’ll also be caring for a sick husband who came home from work chilled and congested. It’s a glamorous life! 🙂

  1. Loving that neutral nail color! I like a good neutral now and then and always wonder why I don’t do them more often. 🙂 Can’t wait to see how your remodeling projects turn out! It’s a lot of work, but usually very worth it in the end. The plumbers just put in new pipes here, so nothing too interesting for photos. Haha!

    I feel for Paul, as I’ve had the sniffles, too. Mine might be mostly allergies, but not sure. Hope it was a restful weekend. Mom and I went dishwasher shopping on Sunday, and it should be delivered in a week or so. It will be so nice to have a dishwasher that works again! It’s been a struggle to get the detergent compartment to stay shut after filling it.

  2. I so wish that your recipes were “made to print” so that those of us with tablets could print them. They look so good! Thanks for your consideration.

  3. I loved your wardrobe video…most of all I love that you are using REAL clothes you wear, they aren’t high end and have been in your closet….just like us REAL people! I don’t care that I can’t link to the item. It gives me inspiration to look at what I have already. I have pretty much given up on the time style blogs take from my life. No need to look at expensive things I am not shopping for then read how the stylist returns most items after photos. No time for that! Appreciate you keep it realistic!

  4. So glad to hear that your bathroom renos are going well and almost done! That’s exciting. I’m in the mood for some pumpkin treats this weekend so I”ll have to check out that bread recipe. Hope you have a great weekend 🙂
