5 Things On Friday {October’s Highlights}

Happy Friday! It’s the last Friday of the month, so it’s time to share the highlights from October. Here they are!

#1 Fall Capsule Wardrobe Outfits: It really didn’t feel like fall until last week, so I was glad I chose lighter items for my wardrobe! Here are my favorite outfits from the month (see the rest of my capsule wardrobe here).

#2 Fall For Greenville: this is my all time favorite fall festival – it’s basically a foodie paradise! Paul and I chose entrees from our favorite downtown vendors and enjoyed some really delicious things. I was so excited to find my favorite food item in all of Greenville… the Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie from Smoke on the Water!

#3 Last month our bathrooms were a MESS. This month has been full of painting, installing and decorating! Yay! I can’t wait to share the finished look with you – we’re getting close!

#4 Our day trip to Harrogate, Tennessee (read more about it here).

#5 A Major Weight Loss Milestone – as of this month, I’ve lost 15 pounds! I don’t want to continually talk about weight loss on the blog, but I hope this will encourage someone. The pictures below show the difference almost exactly 12 months apart. In the picture on the left, I had been working hard at my weight loss for almost two months! I remember that night – we ate at Cracker Barrel and I ordered baked chicken tenders with steamed vegetables. A year later I’ve finally reached my “must lose this much” goal! It pays to stick with it – even if it takes a year! Clearly I’m still enjoying food. Ha!

Some of my favorite posts and videos from this month:

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! Do you have a favorite food item, like my chocolate chip pecan pie, from a local restaurant where you live? Tell me what it is!

  1. I’m loving your fall outfits! I need to do a closet switch this weekend to pull out my flannels and vests. That chocolate chip pecan pie sounds so good. I am in the mood for pies this month. Hope you have a great weekend 🙂

  2. Congrats on the weight loss milestone! Harrogate looks like such a charming place. We live near Nashville, but I’ve never been to the northeast corner of the state. So many options for weekend trips!

  3. You’ve had an eventful month! Hurray for fun outings, food and fall! And that’s awesome that you’ve made such awesome progress on your weightloss journey!! You’ve done awesome this year, and your determination is evident. Way to go! 🙂 I need to check out your fall wardrobe and catch up on a few other videos, too. It’s been busy around here getting some outdoors yard projects done before the weather gets too awful. We had heat, then rain, now crazy 30, 40, 50 m.p.h. wind. So thankful it’s not hurricanes, though!

    Hmm….favorite local food item. I’d have to say the beef burrito grande from Gringo’s Mexican Cantina. It’s probably the place’s best dish, and it’s usually what I get every time because I know it’s something I’ll enjoy.

  4. I’m enjoying watching the bathroom remodel progress! Your bathrooms are almost identical to one in my home so I’m getting lots of ideas from this project! Also congrats on your weight loss, you look fantastic! The Cracker Barrel baked chicken strips are good, aren’t they? I still occasionally covet the fried ones, but the baked ones are pretty tasty for a low fat option! Have a great weekend!

    1. I’m so glad my remodel has been helpful for you! So many of the “tiny” bathroom remodel projects on Pinterest feature much larger rooms than mine. LOL. Yes, I feel the same way about fried chicken at ChickFilA! I love the fried but the grilled strips are really delicious too.
