My Recipe Organization Binder

How do you store your old-fashioned recipes? You know, the ones on paper that we used to use before Pinterest? I bet most of us have a pile, a folder, a box or something filled with recipe cards and pages from cooking magazines. Right?

Well I had a big box jammed with so many good recipes – many of them I hadn’t made in a long time. I’ve been meaning to put them in a binder for a couple years now (like they’ve been in a pile on my office floor for over 12 months…) and I finally did it!

Here’s what I used – all things from this Dollar Tree haul:

• One 1 inch poly binder
• One set of divider pages
• One set of page protectors (I’ll need a couple more sets eventually)
• One pencil pouch (that I had on hand)

I organized the recipes into big categories and then arranged them to fit inside the page protectors. It only took one piece of tape to secure the top of each recipe.

I also included my meal idea index at the front of the binder. It’s simply a brain dump of all the things we like to eat for all three meals. This makes meal planning so much easier!

Many of the meals I make don’t require a recipe because they’re super simple or because I’ve made them a million times, so it’s easy to forget about them when I’m looking for meal ideas on my Pinterest boards.

It’s a really good feeling to have my trusty recipe binder at the ready! I just wish I hadn’t waited so long to assemble it!
