Happy Monday! Here’s a peek at my winter kitchen decor, including the darling blue and white canister I found in Hobby Lobby’s after-Christmas clearance (see what else I found here).
Trying new recipes can be a risky endeavor, but it’s usually worth the risk. This week I tried a new soup recipe that wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t amazing either. However, I tried a couple new recipes around Christmastime that I haven’t shared with you! They’re at the bottom of this post and are all big time winners!
On The Menu
Breakfast:
- Orange Julius Smoothies: Orange Juice + Banana + Spinach + Navel Orange + Frozen Pineapple + Vanilla Yogurt
- Avocado On Toast
- Oatmeal + Blueberries
Lunch:
- Winter Salad with Chicken, Goat Cheese and Cranberries
Supper:
- Green Chili Chicken Enchiladas (similar recipe)/Mexican Rice/Salad
- Spaghetti with fresh spinach cooked in the sauce
- Sausage, Potato, White Bean & Kale Soup (in the January 2019 of Better Homes & Gardens – we didn’t love it)
- Slow Cooker Nachos
- One Pot Chicken Broccoli & Rice Casserole
- Chick Fil A
- Leftovers
New Recipes:
Cranberry Pistachio Mini Cheese Balls: This is a delicious twist on a classic appetizer. I made these for one of our Christmas Eve snacks and it was a huge hit! Confession: I couldn’t find pistachios, so I used walnuts instead. I also just rolled it into one log instead of the mini balls – it was just easier to do it that way!
Herb Roasted Turkey Breast: I usually cook turkey breasts in my crock pot, but lately the crock pot and I haven’t been getting along so well. I’m tired of my meat constantly being overdone and dry, so I decided to roast my turkey breast in the oven. It was a good choice! This recipe yielded a very juicy, flavorful turkey breast that was also great on sandwiches!
Sausage Cheddar Pinwheels: Another winner from Lex Eats – with only 3 ingredients, this recipe is both uncomplicated and delicious. You can even make them ahead of time and freeze the baked pinwheels until you need them. Thaw overnight in the fridge and pop them in the oven for a couple minutes to reheat!
Ok- my goal is to try ONE new recipe a week this year, thanks for all of those delicious ideas! What one do you think I should make next week!?
