April 2019 In Review

Before I share my highlights from April, I want to share some encouragement with you. I find so much hope and relief in the truth that to everything there is a season.

If things aren’t the way I like, I just have to hang on because it’s only a season. If things are exactly the way I like, I need to savor it because it’s only a season. It also reminds me that I don’t live in a perfect world – but I’m headed to one some day.

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven…He hath made everything beautiful in its time: also he hath set eternity in their heart, yet so that man cannot find out the work that God hath done from the beginning even to the end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11)

#1 Easter –one of my favorite times of the year! We had a wonderful service at church and came home for a delicious meal. You can see all the details for my make-ahead Easter menu here.

#2 New Adventures – I will talk about this more in an upcoming video, but this month I started a new job! It has been an adventure of seeing God at work in my life and joining Him in His work. That’s always a good thing!

#3 Family Time – My parents were in town twice this month and somehow we never got a picture together! It was so nice to have them here, and I finally got to take my Mom to one of my favorite thrift stores. I also had the chance to spend the day with my sister and her boys – aunt life is the best life!

#4 We’re going to Disney World!! Several months ago we booked a trip for my 35th birthday coming up in September, and this month we got to start making dining reservations. That makes it feel a little more real – Disney trips always seem too good to be true! This will be our second time to WDW and we are both even more excited now that we know what we’re in for!

#5 Referee Wife Life – Paul had a really full lacrosse refereeing season that just wrapped up this week with tournament games. I only got to tag along for one game this month, but it was a beautiful day with the best views!

  3. Wow! Reading your post sure has filled my heart with such joy, dear friend! What a fantastic month you’ve enjoyed! Your thoughts on everything being for a season (and the scriptural backing to that :)) are well worth reflecting on! I love that as believers we have reason to praise God always, knowing that we can trust that He is working all things together for our good and His glory! I’m so glad you enjoyed so much time with family this month, and you know I’m doing a happy dance for your Disney plans! Congrats on your new job too! 🙂
