5 Things on Friday {9.20.19}

#1 This golden hour sunlight in my kitchen has suddenly appeared this year. I don’t know exactly why I’ve never seen it before, but I am loving that early evening glow in the corner!

#2 The L’Oreal Infallible 24 HR Fresh Wear Foundation has been recommended by a couple different bloggers and YouTubers that I follow. I’ve worn L’Oreal foundation exclusively for several years but hadn’t tried this one yet – I’m so glad I did!

If you’re looking for a good long-wear foundation under $12, this is it! It has a really nice shade range and wears nicely all day long. I’ve been wearing it this summer with a Matte Lock Primer, HD Powder and a Setting Spray and it doesn’t budge! I’m not sure how well it will do in the winter when my skin is drier – it seems like it might not do well with dry patches.

#3 I’ve been looking for the perfect rain jacket all summer. I wanted one with a hood and a light lining, and I wanted it to fit nicely without being snug or too oversized. That’s harder than you think! I finally found this one at Target – if you’re under 5″ like me, it will fit you too! 🙂 I got the green in Large and it’s $25!

#4 At-home mani tip: don’t use old polish! I replace my bottle of top coat every 6 months or so. No matter what brand you use, old goopy polish takes longer to dry and will cause you to wake up with that “sheet print” on your nails.

Do yourself a favor and get some fresh polish each season. My favorite brands are Sally Hansen top coats (less than $4 at Target!) and OPI base coats (around $4 at TJ Maxx!).

#5 Out of Office! This is about to be my view – we head to Disney World this weekend! I am so looking forward to time away. We went to Disney 5 years ago, and that was the last time we had a real vacation (not one tacked on to a work trip, although those are fun too) with just the two of us.

  2. I’m also on the hunt for a cute Fall/rain jacket. I tried on one from the Time and Tru line at Walmart, but it was too shiny for my taste. So the search continues! Hope I can find a cute one like yours 🙂

  3. Have a wonderful trip, Whitney! I’m so excited for you, we were there this past May, you will have a joyous time. I loved the ‘Happily Ever After’ fireworks show at the castle, the story really spoke to my heart 🏰🎆💙.

    Side note: this past year’s disney trip is how I found your YT channel last year as I began planning for our trip. I viewed your very helpful disney park bag video!
