Friday Favorites

Five on Friday {1.8.21}

#1 Walmart has some really cute clothes right now! I’m loving this olive green popover style top – it’s a very flattering style that works well on a petite frame. For $16 I thought it was a great deal.

I’ve also worn the heck out of their $11 crewneck sweatshirt. I have it in two colors: black soot and corsair!

#2 YouTube Recommendation: I discovered Emily Noel late in the fall and have become a huge fan of her channel! She posts the most helpful makeup tutorials, reviews and roundups.

I love watching her while I’m putting my makeup on – I pick up little tips and tricks that at least make me feel like I look better than I would on my own. ๐Ÿ™‚ Emily doesn’t take herself too seriously, so she’s really fun to watch. I loved this video: A Full Face of Your Mom’s Favorite Makeup!

#3 L.A. Colors Eyeshadow Palettes from Dollar Tree: I ordered a $20 eyeshadow palette from Tarte on Black Friday…and do you know what I’m reaching for more than that one? My L.A. Colors palette from Dollar Tree! They are nicely pigmented and are easy to work with.

I have two different shade ranges of these, but right now I’m loving the one called “Traditional.” It has some nice coral and plum shades which I wouldn’t normally wear together, but that I’m loving thanks to Emily Noel! ๐Ÿ™‚

#4 Piano Books: Disney Medleys and Disney Peaceful Piano Solos – When I want to relax but I don’t feel like watching TV, I really enjoy sitting down to play through these books. They’re so much fun! (this is an old picture – I don’t have pumpkins out in January)

#5 Dollar Tree Ring Phone Holder – I love this thing! It works like a pop socket (perfect for small hands trying to hold a large phone), serves as a stand for propping my phone up to watch a video and also allows me to carry things without dropping my phone.

Dollar Tree always has these on their electronic aisle, but of course Amazon has some super cute ones too! And if you’re curious, I use it with my Tech 21 phone case.

That’s it! Leave a comment and let me know something you’re enjoying right now – a makeup product, a household item, anything!

  1. Thank you Whitney for these finds. Could you also share the piano books from your You Tube posts: Great is Thy Faithfulness and Silent Night?

    Hymns of Comfort??

    Iโ€™m hoping to get back into playing piano this year.

    Thanks!

    1. I love your goal of playing the piano this year! That’s always a good one. Great is Thy Faithfulness is from an old book I bought in 1998, so it’s not very easy to find online. You can find it on JW Pepper here: https://tinyurl.com/y5z6dnt6

      The Silent Night arrangement is from Jenifer Cook and might be available on the Scribd app.

      Hope that is helpful!

  2. Thanks for the fun round up! I love that Walmart top. So pretty! I’ve had great luck with Walmart kid clothes this season, but have had a harder time finding things for myself. I should check back in. Love your sparkly nails!
