Have you ever made a desperate stop at the store on your way to an event – in search of a gift bag for the gift you’re taking to the event? Or do you find yourself digging through your stash of gift wrap supplies, looking for something that isn’t too Christmasy that you can use to wrap a graduation gift?
I’ve so been there. But not anymore! I keep a stash of specific items to insure I have whatever I need to appropriately gift wrap just about anything!
Basically, I’ve found that you need a handful of neutral packaging options along with a few basic accessories. Here’s what I keep in my stash – all of these items can be found at Dollar Tree!
- Clear Cellophane Treat Bags
- Colored Bakers Twine
- Jute String
- Paper Shred
- White Tissue Paper
- Brown Kraft Gift Bags or Neutral Geometric Gift Bags
- Brown Kraft Paper Gift Wrap
- Non-Holiday Patterned Gift Wrap (floral, geometric)
I also like to think outside the box when it comes to packaging and I’ll sometimes choose a reusable container like this fall bucket or black and white planter. Often these things cost just as much as a decorative gift bag and are much more useful!
It really elevates a small gift or a gift card when you incorporate a cellophane bag, paper shred and some ribbon.
Here’s an example of a gift wrapped in brown kraft paper, as well as a geometric patterned bag. Those patterns work well for so many different occasions.
I definitely keep a stash of seasonal treat bags, too. They are great for packaging up little goodies and look extra special with a cute gift tag.
And one last PSA – if you still have a stash of 847 wedding gift bags from your bridal showers, get rid of them. You’ll never need that many wedding gift bags. 🙂
You can set up your gift wrap stash for less than $10, so what are you waiting for? You will thank yourself later!
