Enjoying The Journey

Celebrating Eight Years with a Giveaway!

This month I’m celebrating EIGHT years of blogging! Being able to share my love of homemaking and connecting with sweet friends like you is one of the greatest blessings of my adult life!

My life doesn’t look the same as it did eight years ago – we’ve been through job changes, decor changes and upgrades, trials and blessings – but home is just as important as it was in 2013! I feel just as passionate about encouraging you to make your home a place of comfort as I ever did.

This year I started my monthly email newsletter and launched my Etsy store. I love sharing practical, affordable tools to help you organize your home and my Etsy store helps me to do that. Later this month I’m launching something on Etsy that I am so excited to share with you! I can’t wait for you to see it!

Let’s do a little question and answer session from the Q&A box I posted on Instagram earlier this week!

What is your favorite thing to eat? – Rebekah

Potatoes. I like them baked, mashed, fried, roasted, hashbrowned, scalloped and any other way you can think of. 🙂 Second to that would be tomatoes.

What is one of your favorite pieces of advice about being a good spouse? -Holly

I think one of the most helpful things I’ve been told is this – picture yourself standing next to your spouse, at the cross. There we are all equal. We’re all the same. Forgiven, sinners, beloved, unworthy. It changes my perspective on the issue, whether petty or serious.

What’s your favorite thing to splurge on? -Amy

My hair. I get a salon cut every four weeks, and this year I’ve started highlighting my hair every 3 months. I see my stylist more often than I see my friends. LOL.

Were you homeschooled growing up? -Julia

Yes! I was homeschooled all the way through, except for 3rd-5th grade when I attended a small Christian school.

I love your piano playing! Do you play at church? – Amy

Thank you! ❤ I was the church pianist at my Dad’s church from age 14 all the way through college, and I loved it. I don’t currently play at my church – I’m much more of an old school hymn style pianist – but I have filled in at the church where I work a couple times. I enjoy playing at home and sharing a little of that on Instagram.

To celebrate this blogiversary, I’m giving away a $30 gift card to TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Home Goods. This is the most fun time of year to shop any of those stores, as their shelves are full of glorious fall (and soon Christmas!) decor!

Thank you so much for your support of my blog! The best way to support and help any blogger is simply to click through and read their posts, and you’re doing that for me. I am so grateful for you!

  2. What a fun celebratory post! I loved reading your Q&A. I’m thankful that you share your piano playing on Instagram. Those are some of my favorite videos to watch. ❤️ Happy 8 years to Come Home For Comfort! It’s been such an encouraging spot in the blogosphere. I’m thankful for that, and to the Lord for our friendship. I keep thinking about my favorite Labor Day weekend 3 years ago when we had the joy of spending time with you & Paul! What a treat, and what a kind God we serve! I’m excited to enter your generous giveaway, then I’ll be leaving with a smile and a craving for potatoes! Lol. *Hugs!*
