I celebrated a birthday over the weekend, the last birthday in my twenties. I feel like I’ve been in this decade for a long time…and so many wonderful things have happened in the past ten years that I’m a little sad to see my twenties go! Is that too sentimental for you? Don’t worry, I’ll get over it. 🙂 My husband arranged a romantic date night to help give my 29th year a fabulous start.
Greenville’s downtown is easily the best thing about living here. Paul Curtis made reservations at Passerelle, a new French restaurant that overlooks Falls Park. He reserved a specific table and server in their outside dining area. There was a cool breeze from the nearby Falls at Reedy River, romantic music and soft strands of lights over the awning. It was a lovely setting!
We started out with some wonderful appetizers…
I didn’t get a picture of my entree – ambient outdoor lighting at dusk doesn’t lend to great iPhone pictures! I ordered the Summer Cassoulet, which is the feature photo here. It was the best duck I’ve ever eaten (I’ve now had duck twice. Ha.). Paul’s steak with parsley garlic butter was pretty amazing as well.
Truly the best part of eating French cuisine is dessert! We shared a scrumptious chocolate mousse with Chantilly cream and black cherries…
It was a lovely time, enjoying good food and eachother. Our server brought me a birthday card, signed by all the staff that night. So much more sophisticated than the typical song of “happy happy birthday, we’re so glad you came…” 🙂
I am so thankful for the man God has given me! I love sharing life with him, on both the ordinary days and the special ones!
