Sister of the Bride!

sisters wedding day

Last weekend I had the privilege of being in my sister’s wedding. It was just as lovely and fun as she is! She was the maid of honor in my wedding 3 1/2 years ago, and I couldn’t have been more honored to do the same for her on Saturday. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bride enjoy the events of a wedding more than she did! I stood behind her during the ceremony and watched her shoulders rise in excitement when our Dad (the wedding officiant) said “what God has joined together, let not man separate…” and “by the power vested in me by the state of Tennessee…”, both phrases I think she’d dreamed of hearing her whole life.

I love the picture above for two reasons. First, you can see how gorgeous she looked! Her dress, her hair…everything was stunning! But I also love this picture because I took it while she was talking to her wedding coordinator – about something that wasn’t going quite the way she wanted. Look at her, cracking jokes and making the best of the situation! Love that!

My sister’s wedding day disposition wasn’t a one-time experience. She enjoys life no matter what the circumstances. I know that attitude will be a blessing to her new husband as they face whatever circumstances the Lord chooses for their lives. She’s one of the people described in Proverbs 17:22, with a cheerful heart!

I don’t have any pictures of the bride and groom together – I only had my phone in my hand when I was with the girls. My mom will be posting pictures each day this week on her blog, so hop over there if you want to see more!
