Happy Friday! I have to give a special shout out to the new hosts of High Five For Friday – Katie, Caitlin, Tif and Della! Let’s get crackin’ with some Friday faves from the week!
1. Santa left me some cash that I have enjoyed spending on new clothes! I recently discovered that Old Navy’s petite line fits me better than anything I’ve tried. I ordered this navy and turquoise dress during the after-Christmas sale, and ended up ordering the black and white version as well during the 25% off sale they ran last week. I’m learning that if something works on me, I need it in more than one color. Anyone else like that?
2. My sister gave me some really cute canisters for Christmas. Not only do they have chalkboard labels, they came with soapstone chalk already sharpened like a pencil! My days of writing in chalk like a 4 year old are over!
3. It felt like winter this week! One of the best things about living in the South is that you can enjoy the cold weather knowing it won’t last forever. It will be 70 degrees in two months. 🙂 Makes that “feels like 8 degrees” feel just a tad warmer.
4. Cold weather means the cats take longer naps. Peggy’s favorite wintertime napping spot just happens to be on my favorite blanket. She spent the last week either sound asleep or sporting her “I woke up like this” face.
5. Now that my Christmas decorations are gone, I pulled together some cozy winter decor for my living room featuring one of my favorite free printables. You can find that printable here, but come back next week for a peek at the rest of my decor!
Have a lovely weekend!

That dress is adorable, but I tried one on and it just didn’t fit me correctly. I was bummed because it looked so great on the hanger. Ok, and the chalkboard labels are amazing. I would basically put them on anything.
thanks for linking up for H54F and hope to have you again tomorrow 🙂

I’m just now learning that lesson too, about buying things in multiple colors if you really love it. It just makes so much sense! You had me cracking UP with the writing with sidewalk chalk. I have started over many a project because of my inept ability to write things with chubby chalk. I found some chalkboard pens in the Dollar Bin at Target one time. I bought 6! But they work really well! Easy to write with, but a great chubby line.
Thank you so much for your help spreading the word about H54F!! It was very much appreciated!

I’m so jealous – I’ve looked for chalkboard pens everywhere! My mom is a teacher and creates the most gorgeous chalkboard designs…I can’t compete. 🙂

I’ll have to try old navy’s petite clothes. I’ve always had a problem with their things being too big on me. Not necessarily the size, just the way things are cut.

Whitney, you have such a cute blog. I love it, although most is geared for the young set, but us oldies like to reminisce.

Sleepy kitty faces are the best!! I have LOVED so many things from Old Navy this season. Glad you’ve had great luck there, too. I used to tease my mom for buying a shirt she liked in all the colors they offered, but now I see the genius in it. Hope you have a great weekend!!
