1// Monday afternoon we met my parents at Biltmore – it was so fun to spend the day with them in one of my favorite cities! I love Asheville, North Carolina, and the Biltmore is a definite must-see for anyone living in the Southeast. We had a delicious lunch at one of the restaurants on site – my grilled Caesar salad was worth it for the pickled onions alone. Yum!!
2// The weather was beautiful while we were at Biltmore, but on the way home we got caught in a crazy hail storm. When we got home there was an inch of hail on the ground with major rain and dense fog. I’ve never seen hail come down like that! Thankfully, we got home safely and without any damage to our car…thanks to my cool and calm husband. I would have freaked out if I had been driving.
3// Tuesday morning there was a massive power outage in the town where I work, so I got to go home super early. I used my extra time to make my first ever from-scratch pie crust. I filled it with chocolate cream pie and it was delicious!
4// I found a new blog that I’m in love with: Cat Lady Confidential. She has a series called Cat Lady Confessions with posts that are oh-so-true for this cat lady.
5// I’m really glad it’s March Madness season! I’m not a die-hard sports fan, but I love cheering for Kentucky and proudly wear my Kentucky blue in this land of Carolina and Duke fans. #BBN!
That’s it for me! Have a lovely weekend!

So sad about the Cats:( I’ve never been to Asheville but I’d like to make time to go this year. Heading over to check out that blog now.

It is SO sad! We don’t have cable, and that was the first game I actually got to watch them play. So this was a tragically sad season for me. Asheville is SO fun, I hope you can make it over there soon!

Sounds like a pretty great week! What a fun meet up with your parents & I’m glad you made it home safely. I hate driving through stuff like that. I’m going to have to check out this cat lady blog you mentioned. Sound right up my alley. I’ve been craving pie lately so I should whip up a pie this weekend. You can never go wrong with a homemade crust 🙂 Happy weekend!!

You’ll love the cat lady blog! My pie crust recipe made twice as much as I needed, so I’m trying to decide what kind of filling I want for the other half of the dough in the freezer. Yum! 🙂

I feel about making pie crusts the way you feel about making cookies…it’s just so much work and it makes a huge mess. Maybe once I get the hang of it, it won’t be as bad.
