This is the perfect week for a good ole fashioned H54F post! It was one of those weeks where the days seemed long but the week was short. Do you know what I’m talking about?
I’ll start with the low for the week and we’ll go up from there.
#1 Tuesday morning we woke up at 4 AM to at least 10 fire trucks flying into our neighborhood. I jumped up and looked out to see huge flames that had engulfed a house way down the street. That’s a scary thing to see in real life!
The house was a total loss, but as far as I know there wasn’t anyone in the house at the time. I’m so thankful it didn’t destroy any other houses (although both neighboring houses had damage).
#2 On Wednesday Paul was working at an event for a local celebrity golf tournament and ran into Andy Buckley (David Wallace on The Office). He made my day with the pic and some swag, autographed by “David Wallace.” How cool is that?!
#3 I officially launched my Etsy shop this week with my Monthly Bill Tracker System! It’s a great tool to help you easily organize your passwords and other related info. I’m giving away a $20 Dollar Tree gift card to one person who purchases it – enter the giveaway here!
#4 I had my first South Carolina peach for the summer! I’m not afraid to admit that summer is my least favorite season, but things like fresh local peaches make it survivable – and enjoyable, when eaten in the AC! 🙂
#5 There were so many great verses in my Bible reading plan this week, but I loved these two: You ascended to the heights, taking away captives; you received gifts from people, even from the rebellious, so that the Lord God might dwell there. Blessed be the Lord! Day after day he bears our burdens; God is our salvation. Psalm 68:18-19
This time of year brings back some memories for me from a difficult season a few years ago. Along with the memories come the verses that the Holy Spirit used to strengthen my heart and the reminders of God’s presence and faithfulness during those days.
I love the phrase in the verse above, “So that the Lord God might dwell there.” His presence makes the difference in our difficulties!

That’s the wrap up for this week! I’m so glad it’s Friday! 🙂
