July 2021 In Review

July is always a fun month with lots of reason to celebrate! We spent July 4th in downtown Greenville at the new(ish) Gather GVL food truck spot. It was unseasonably pleasant, in the low 80’s, so we took advantage of that and tried a new hot dog place.

My nephews spent the day with us one weekend! We petted the neighbors dogs, smashed ice cubes with plastic critters frozen inside and visited Paul at work.

They were so excited when Paul came home from work that evening. I love this picture of the boys watching him walk up the driveway!

Paul’s birthday is in the middle of July and I’m always excited to celebrate him! My Mom and Dad were in town on his birthday (to help me with some home projects) and got to join us for his birthday supper. We always love having my parents at our house!

Paul requested ice cream cake, so we went with a chocolate Oreo one from Brusters – it was a very good decision! šŸ™‚

I am SO HAPPY that the Olympics are finally here! It has been a refreshing display of patriotism and I’m loving it all. My favorites are the gymnastics, diving and swimming. Paul’s a big fan of the volleyball.

I found the Team USA Oreos! They were the perfect snack for opening weekend.

Here’s my favorite passage from this month’s Bible in a Year reading:

He established a testimony in Jacob and set up a law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach to their children so that a future generation — children yet to be born — might know. They were to rise and tell their children so that they might put their confidence in God and not forget God’s works. Psalm 78:6-7

I don’t have to wait until God does something “miraculous” for me before I start praising Him. He is just as worthy of my praise when I’m standing at the bottom of the mountain looking up as He is when I’m standing on the other side of it!

Whatever mountain you face today, wherever you are in the climb, God is worthy to be trusted and God is worthy to be praised. Look back at what He has done for you. Look back at who He says He is in Scripture. Put your confidence in the God of Jacob and then you can help someone else do the same! ā¤
