It’s time for another edition of Friday Favorites!
One of the best comforts of home, in my opinion, is your personal movie collection. There’s something so familiar about a movie you’ve watched over and over! Who doesn’t love curling up on the couch with a big blanket and a movie to which you can quote every line?! I have a thing for old movies, and while there are lots of recent movies I enjoy, nothing does it for me quite like a classic! Here are my favorite “comfort” movies:
Casablanca: it has drama, romance, suspense, and Bogie!
You’ve Got Mail: Not an “old” movie, but a classic nonetheless. “Don’t you just love New York in the fall?”
McClintock: My favorite John Wayne movie! This movie has comedy, romance and fighting (between Indians and troops as well as men and women!)
The Philadelphia Story: I just adore this movie. Cary Grant’s comical banter with Jimmy Stewart is classic., and Katherine Hepburn has some fabulous lines that I quote all the time. I really need for someone in my life to love this movie too, so they can quote lines with me! 🙂
What is your go-to comfort movie?

My favorite classic is His Girl Friday – so funny! I tend to choose costume movies for comfort. My favorites are Pride and Prejudice (either the Colin Firth BBC version or the Kiera Knightly version if I don’t have six hours to spare…), Sense and Sensibility, Emma, Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, Amazing Grace…I could go on but I’m worried it would make me look like I have no life! 😉 I will definitely be checking out The Philadelphia Story, though. It sounds fabulous!
Ha! No worries about that, my favorite movie list is WAY longer than 4! =) And yes, His Girl Friday is a great one as well. Their repartee is so quick and witty, I think more so than any other.
I was just thinking the other day that I needed to watch Emma again. Love that one too.
I love you got mail!! Such a classic! =)
