Date Night – First Date Anniversary

I’ve mentioned before that Paul and I share our Google calendars with each other. It is a great way to keep up with his busy work schedule, but I also keep birthdays, holidays and other special events on our calendar so that each year is pre-filled with all the important dates. My husband sometimes has a hard time remembering certain dates and holidays, and I’ve found that our Google calendar takes that pressure off him.

For instance, last week Paul planned our date night on the anniversary of our first date! He would never have remembered that on his own – he’s a wonderful husband – but those things aren’t as important to him as they are to me. Having the date on the calendar allowed him to very easily make me feel very special and loved.

To celebrate the 4th anniversary of our first date, we went out for supper at one of our favorite restaurants. After we ordered, we talked about that first date…what we wore, our first impressions of each other, and how our love has grown and developed since then. It was so sweet and romantic!

Do you celebrate your first date anniversaries? Even if you don’t remember the exact date, you could recreate the memories by visiting the place or doing something similar to your first date. Even going out to dinner and reminiscing about your first impressions of each other can rekindle some old feelings of young love!
