Happy Memorial Day! I believe Americans live in the greatest country on the Earth. It is truly a privilege to enjoy the wealth and freedom of this nation – but that privilege has come at great sacrifice. On Memorial Day we pause to honor the brave men and women who have given their lives for our freedom.

I think cookouts and vacation time are appropriate for Memorial Day – it’s because of our freedoms that we can afford and enjoy those things. However, if you’re looking for a way to express your gratitude, check out this great post on 10 ways to say thank you on Memorial Day. How do you say thank you to our nation’s heroes?
Have you lost a family member or friend during their service to our country? Please share their story in the comments so that we may honor their sacrifice – and yours – today.
Thanks for this post. We used it to help teach the boys about Memorial Day. It made it so much easier with all of that information in one spot!
