What kind of rag do you use for cleaning the house? I’ve always used whatever old t-shirt or rag I had hanging around the house. It has always worked pretty well for dusting furniture, blinds and baseboards.
Those days are over.
A few weeks ago at Gracious Designs, I was introduced to the e-cloth. It’s a cute little cloth that works without any cleaning solution! Not only is that better for the environment (if you care about that sort of thing…) but it saves money! I love being able to clean multiple surfaces without purchasing 4 different bottles of cleaning products. I’ve used the e-cloth all over my house, and here are my favorite ways to work its magic:
Dusting – last week I needed to remove as much cat hair from my house as possible, for an allergy-prone family member who was visiting. I used the e-cloth on all these places with great success:
- Baseboards
- HVAC filter cover – are those slanty things not the hardest to clean? The e-cloth took less time and did a better job than anything I’ve ever tried.
- Blinds
- General household dusting – using a dry cloth literally causes the fibers to attract the dust into the cloth, instead of just knocking dust around the room.
Polishing Stainless Steel – (I used a wet cloth for this)
- Microwave
- Dishwasher door
- Oven door and drawer front – the e-cloth removed grime that paper towels and wet dish cloths never seem to find!
Have you tried the e-cloth? If you haven’t, what are you waiting for?
If you live the Johnson City, TN area, I know you can pick them up for a great price at Gracious Designs. They just opened at their new location, so this would be a great reason to stop by and check it out! Otherwise, you can grab one on Amazon. 🙂

I use microfiber cloths that I picked up at Target, I think. I LOVE them!
