5 Things on Friday {3.11.16}

1// During date night this week, we took the Chick Fil A Family Challenge. Basically, you put all your cell phones in a closed box that sits on your table. If you don’t open the box for the duration of your meal, everyone gets a free IceDream! I really wanted to Instagram it…but yeah… It was worth it for free ice cream!! (I don’t think every location does this – call your store to find out)

2// Monday I posted on Instagram that Paul came down with a vicious flu bug. Thank you to those of you who prayed for him and checked in to see how he was doing – he’s much better now! I seem to have escaped catching the worst of it, but the verdict is still out on that one.

3// I got another Target Beauty Box this week! I have an open box video along with a review of some other products I’ve received over the past couple months – that’s coming soon to my YouTube channel. I always get questions about how the Target Beauty Box works, so hopefully this will answer those questions for you.

4// Last month my friend Tif blogged about one of her wardrobe staples, black skinny pants. I decided right then that I needed a pair and began watching the price on OldNavy.com (as Tif has taught us to do). Earlier this week the price dropped to $15 and I grabbed them! Score!

5// I love people who love The Office. My 5th grade BFF started her post yesterday with a beautiful (truly) application of a Michael Scott quote about love. There’s also pictures of yummy food and adorable children, so it’s definitely worth a click. 🙂

That’s it for me! Have a lovely weekend!

  1. I was hesitant to try black skinnies too, but I found a dress pair at the Dillards outlet in Asheville a couple of years ago (with a stretch waistband #winning) and I’ve been obsessed since. I hope you love yours! Plus ON’s Pixies have the perfect amount of stretch – cute and comfy #ftw! 🙂

  2. I’m glad to hear that Paul is on the mend and I hope you stay healthy! The flu is rough! Great deal on those pants – such a great closet staple and I loved that tip from Tif to watch the price on items for a week to get the best deal. I saw our CFA advertising that cell phone coop promotion so we’ll have to give it a try. I’m up for good conversation and free ice cream anytime 🙂

  3. That is a great deal on the pants! I love the Chickfila challenge! We are very strict on no tech at the dinner table. It is just so important. I hope you are still staying healthy!

  4. Yeah to the Challenge! Sadly we don’t have Chick-fil-a up north but I love them, especially that they are closed Sunday’s. I have looked for skinny pants forever. They are either too “skinny” or not enough! Did you get a specific style at Old Navy? I would like to try them and the link didn’t go to it. Hope you all are feeling better and avoiding illness for the weekend.

    1. How sad that you don’t have CFA! I would really miss it if we didn’t have one here. I ordered the Pixie Pant in black from Old Navy – but they come in all kinds of fun colors and patterns too!

  5. Hey sweet girl! Thanks for sharing the link, that was really nice of you :-). I loved the cell-phone-free date night you had. What a good challenge. I’ve also heard of other people “unplugging” for the weekend and have felt like I need to do that…I just haven’t been bold enough to give it a try ;-). Because as they say, “if you don’t take a picture of it, did it even happen???” lol, oh….

    1. We don’t usually text or let our phones distract us during a date, but it was funny how many times I reached for my phone to look something up or show him a picture of something we were talking about…first world problems! 🙂

  6. I told Jason about the Chickfila cell phone challenge and said as a blogger the only problem with that would be that if my phone were inside of it I wouldn’t be able to take a picture of it to share, so I got a giggle out of what you said about wanting to instagram it! lol 🙂 I’m so glad that Paul is feeling much better, and will continue to pray that you remain well! ❤ I was excited to receive my Target Beauty Box this week too…those always make me think of you! Looking forward to catching your newest video soon! Off to check out that post you linked. I can always use a does of Dunder Mifflin goodness! 😉

  7. So glad your hubby is doing better – hope you don’t get it! And the Chic-fil-A challenge – I’ve wondered about that, it’s nice to hear of a family who actually took the challenge (you made me chuckle about wanting to Instagram it).

Oh, and The Office? Yeah…closet fan over here! 🙂

    Happy Friday!

  8. Whitney, only you could look pretty in a public restroom selfie!! I hope you escape the flu bug!! And my MOPs girls talked me into getting some skinny pants as well. They do look nice with tunics. Right now I am wanting Tif’s tee shirt that says Mind Your Own Biscuits!! I may break down and order it from Darling South.

  9. Yay for $15 pixie pants! Hope Paul I’d feeling better. Your necklace looks adorable on you! And yay for free ice cream!

Also, I got my Target Beauty Box in the mail and you could tell it was soaked inside the packaging. Let’s just say that I’m not getting to try the sea salt spray, and the price of my box was refunded.:(
