Not being one to enjoy spending 5 hours in the outdoors, I don’t usually tag along to Paul’s lacrosse games. 🙂 He officiates lacrosse at colleges all over the Southeast – but when he’s going to Lincoln Memorial University, I jump at the change to join him! This college is located in Tennessee, just across the Kentucky state line and also not far from West Virginia. The lacrosse field is down in a gorgeous valley between corn fields and white church steeples. I’ve been there in every season and it’s always gorgeous!
When we arrived Saturday morning it was cool and overcast (my favorite weather) and then brightened into a warm and sunny afternoon. Here are five of my favorite pictures from the day!
This final picture is where we ate lunch, The Pineapple Tea Room in Cumberland Gap. There aren’t any Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts around – if you want good coffee and a nice sandwich, this is the place to stop!
I hope your week has been beautiful and at least a little fall-like (even if you had to drive 8 hours round trip to enjoy it)!

Beautiful photos! I just found your blog a few months ago and have enjoyed your posts! I’ve already put some of your organization tips to use. Kitchen home office idea has been a real winner here!!! Thanks!

I love scenic drives and daytrips! Looks like yours was a beautiful area, and it would be a perfect picnic spot! That bridge is so cute! This week, I accompanied my mom on a work trip and had the chance to check out a cute downtown area. The tree leaves weren’t colored yet, but I loved the old-fashioned lampposts and clock near the park.
Hoping to make it to the local pumpkin patch next weekend. Vala’s (http://www.valaspumpkinpatch.com/) is like the Disneyland of pumpkin patches, and it’s also pretty pricey. However, I won tickets. You can’t beat free! 🙂 I love to do the hayrack ride, check out the fall flowers and gourds, and eat yummy fall food. (Hello, chili bread bowl and cider!)
Can’t wait for the trees to finally turn colors, which should be in the next few days. 🙂

So lovely! About 26 years ago, I lived in Jellico which is about 40 miles from Cumberland Gap. I remember visiting the town. It truly is a beautiful region!! 🙂
