Let’s Read Proverbs Together!

I’ve spoken about the daily practice that has changed my life – reading/listening to one chapter of Proverbs every day. It gives me practical help each day as I fill the roles of wife, sister, daughter, friend, employee, and as I mentioned Monday – homemaker.

I’m inviting you to join me as we read through Proverbs together! Last year we read Proverbs together during one of the summer months, but I thought that November would be a great month for all of us to gain a little extra wisdom during a busy time of year. It only takes a few minutes each day to either read or listen to the chapter being read through the app.

If you use the YouVersion app on your phone, there’s a plan that helps you stay on track with each day of the month! Click here to join my group and to sign up for the plan (it’s free). You’ll need to create an account with YouVersion if you don’t already have one. I also recommend going into the settings and turning off email notifications.

I love using plans on this app because you get a check mark each time you finish the day’s reading. Who doesn’t love that? 🙂

There’s a discussion section at the end of each day’s reading, and that is only there if you want to use it (I probably won’t). Don’t feel any pressure to participate in the discussion if that doesn’t interest you. The goal with this plan is just to help you get in the habit of reading one chapter of Proverbs each day!

You can use the plan without being in the group if you prefer – here’s the link for the plan that you can follow on your own, any time.  Of course you can do it the old fashioned way and just open your Bible and read it right from the pages! 😉 That’s always a good idea.

Here are a few times you could fit this into your day:

  • listen while making the bed, getting ready in the morning or while getting ready for bed at night
  • listen in the car on the way to work
  • read while you eat a meal
  • read instead of scrolling social media when you’re waiting on something
  • listen while you exercise
  • read before you go to bed

I hope you’ll join me for the month of July as we read through Proverbs! I won’t post reminders here on the blog, but I’ll try to do that on Instagram stories, especially as we get closer to the beginning of November. I hope you’ll join me!

Who’s in for a Proverb a day in November?

  1. I love the book of Proverbs…I used to quote verses to my children as they were growing up to lead them in the right direction!! On a totally different topic, I saw that Mrs Erica is no longer doing her blog or her You Tube Channel. You introduced me to her so I know you watched as well. It is so sad that a few mean people can be so destructive. They need to read Proverbs.

    1. My Mom’s love of Proverbs heavily influenced my life as well – it’s a great dialogue to have ready on your tongue.
I’m so sad that Erica stopped, too. I’ve learned that bloggers and YouTubers come and go as seasons of their lives change – it’s just part of the internet life!
