Happy Homemaker Challenge: August 2020

I’m excited to launch the Happy Homemaker Challenge for August 2020! This will take place on Instagram, and has been designed to help us find joy and contentment in our role as homemakers.

I’ve always preached my mantra that all women are homemakers, no matter what additional titles you hold – wife, mom, widow, single, teacher, manager, employee and the list could go on and on.

Strength and dignity are her clothing and she laughs at the time to come. Proverbs 31:25

That’s quite the opposite of what we see from most of society today, isn’t it? We have the power to change the narrative and the tone in our own homes, but we can’t do that if we are discontent and unhappy at home. I want to take the month of August and help us all create happy homes as we become happy at home.

Here’s how this challenge works. It’s not a competition to see who has the prettiest house. Take each day’s prompt and interpret it however you want.

For example: Day 18 is “in my bathroom.” If there is something about your bathroom that you love – your vanity, the way the morning sun comes through the window, the color scheme – share a picture on Instagram that captures it.

If you can’t think of anything you love about your bathroom, look for a way to fix it (without spending any money). Clean off the counters, add a vase of flowers or open the curtains. It doesn’t have to transform the whole room. Just find something small – you might be surprised at the big impact!

I hope you’ll join me, beginning August 1, in sharing each day’s prompt either in Instagram stories or on your Instagram feed. Use the hashtag #happyhomemaker2020 or if your profile isn’t public, tag me @homeforcomfort so that I can see it and share it to my stories. Let’s flood Instagram with happy homemakers!

  1. Whitney – this sounds like fun! I enjoy these photo challenges as they help me be purposeful – not only with what I post and how I use IG but also with how I look at things around me and in my home! Looking forward to joining you:)
