Over the years I’ve taken to calling my Friday roundup posts “Five on Friday,” but I felt like this week needed a little more oomph and cheer so we’re giving this Friday a big old high five!

#1 Voting
I’m very thankful that I had the opportunity to vote this week! I take it very seriously and always come prepared with a sample ballot and any research necessary. With every privilege comes a responsibility!
It was 43 degrees while I waited in the shade for an hour and a half, but I am not complaining! I love cold weather, freedom and democracy and they all happened on the same day. 🙂 I handle the cold a little better than my neighbors. Ha!

#2 Celebrating!
I felt like we needed some fun and celebration this week! You might not know that working as a sports official is a very competitive thing – receiving playoff games (especially now) is a big deal. Paul was assigned two of them this season, so I ordered a cake to celebrate!

#3 Southern Gospel Concert
We were excited that one of our favorite Southern Gospel artists was in the area on Sunday night! Nothing encourages and uplifts me like gospel music and this was like a supercharge for our very worn down batteries.

I’m also really thankful to live in the South where this kind of gathering is possible! It was such a blessing.
#4 Vacation!
Starting today, I’m on a week of vacation! I’m taking all next week off from my day job and I have some fun things planned, including decorating for Christmas and traveling with my mom. I’m so excited!
#5 God.
It is the Lord who provides the sun to light the day and the moon and stars to light the night, and who stirs the sea into roaring waves. His name is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. (Jeremiah 31:35)
The God of Israel…is the Creator of everything that exists, including his people, his own special possession. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is his name! (Jeremiah 51:19)
We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.” Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy! (Psalm 126:2-3)
Amen!
