It’s time to shop for Christmas gifts! Here are my top five gift ideas for 2022. These are things that I have enjoyed in the last year and that will be a blessing to the people who receive them.

The Bible Recap: A One-Year Guide to Reading and Understanding the Entire Bible ($20-$30)

Hopefully you know by now that I’m a big fan of reading through the entire Bible chronologically. This is my 5th trip through the Bible and I plan to do it annually for the rest of my life. This year both The Bible Recap book and The Bible Recap podcast have been tremendous tools to help me understand how the Bible is just one big story with one main character (Jesus).
If you know someone who listens to TBR or who would like to read the Bible in a year, this would be perfect to help them in their study. I have the deluxe edition in imitation leather ($20-$40 here or here) which makes a lovely gift.
CSB Notetaking Bible ($30-$45)

I started using this Bible earlier this year and I love it! There are lined margins on each page with plenty of room to make notes. I used the English Standard Version for about 20 years (and still love it), but I’ve really enjoyed reading through the Bible using the Christian Standard Version last year and again this year.
Elisabeth Elliot Perpetual Calendar ($12)

This beautiful calendar is the perfect gift for any woman, with daily encouragement from Elisabeth Elliot’s writing as well as a coordinating passage of Scripture. If you’re unfamiliar with Elisabeth Elliot, her writing reminds me a lot of Paul Tripp. This calendar has encouragement for daily life, motherhood, marriage, and trials.
101 Conversation Starters for Families ($10)

My mom gave me these cards in anticipation of our upcoming adoption. Paul and I have been working through them at supper time in order to get in the habit, and we’ve enjoyed them so much! This would be a great gift for anyone with children and would even be a nice hostess gift.
O Come, Let Us Adore Him: A Daily Advent Devotional by Paul David Tripp ($10-$18)

I went through this advent devotional last Christmas and enjoyed it so much. Here’s a paragraph from one of the devotionals:
“The Christmas story reminds us that hope will never be found if you look horizontally. True hope is found only when you look for it vertically. It’s not enough to say that God gives us hope. What the Christmas story declares to us is that God is hope. God is your only source for steady, unshakable, eternal hope.”
Of course this would best serve the recipient if you give it before December 1st, which is what I plan to do for the person on my list who’s receiving it! This way it’s really a gift that you can enjoy all month long. This would also make a lovely hostess gift.

FRUGAL TIP: Because these gifts are all available on Amazon, the price will probably fluctuate. Keep an eye on them and grab them when they’re discounted!
Are you overwhelmed with Christmas preparations? My 3-page printable Christmas planner will help you get it all organized and into a very manageable state. You can grab it in my Etsy store.

Happy Shopping! I pray that as you shop for gifts, you’ll remember that God gives the BEST gifts. He gave us his own Son, Jesus, and He is always enough. ❤
