1 – Thank You
Thank you so much for your kind response to my recent personal life updates. Your comments on my post about My New Role As A Stay At Home Mom were so kind and encouraging. If you are a SAHM, definitely read through the comments on that post. There’s a wealth of wisdom and encouragement over there!
I’m also so grateful for your kind comments and messages about my Papa’s passing. Thank you for the sweet things you said about him – Papa was a special man!

2 – Spring Break
We’re wrapping up our week of spring break! Paul had a busy week of work and lacrosse games, so I tried to plan fun things each day to make the week a little extra fun. We made a special after-supper run to Duck Donuts, hit up our favorite parks, grabbed Chick Fil A for lunch, and made it to one of Paul’s lacrosse games. The kiddos were so excited to see him in action!
On Wednesday Paul’s lacrosse travel took him right through my parents’ city, so we tagged along. He dropped us off for an afternoon of Ham Fam fun. This was the first time my parents got to host all 5 of their grandchildren at their house!
My mom had spring crafts, sugar cookie decorating stations, an Easter object lesson, and all of our favorite foods ready for us to enjoy. It was lots of fun!

3 – Household Favorites
I upgraded my vacuum right after Christmas and couldn’t be happier with the one I purchased. My favorite features are the extra long cord, the hose that detaches with a handle, and the two modes: bare floor and “super strong suction.” It really gets my carpets extra clean!

The only drawback is how heavy it is – it takes a lot of energy to haul that thing all over the house. I got mine at Walmart and it’s 60% off right now! Grab it for $85 if you need a good vacuum.

4 – Kitty Love
The cats are adjusting pretty well to their new housemates, but they still enjoy the safety and calm of our room. I have found them in this spot most afternoons, soaking up the sun.

5 – Protection
The day that Paul dropped us off at my parents’ house, he was involved in a scary incident on the interstate. He was headed to his lacrosse game (alone) when a dump truck two cars in front of him lost its driveshaft in the middle of the road. Paul did his best to avoid it but ended up losing two tires in the process.
We are extremely thankful that God protected Paul and helped him to respond with his usual quick, calm reflexes. Our van is still in Tennessee while we wait on the insurance, but we’re making do with our other vehicles.
Late that night a dear friend texted me this message: “I couldn’t go to sleep before telling you you have been on my mind all day today. I’ve prayed for you and your precious family! Hope all is well!”
She had no idea what transpired on the interstate – we hadn’t talked in a couple weeks. I messaged her back to thank her for listening to the Holy Spirit and for praying! I shared the events of the day with her, overwhelmed with gratitude that someone hours away from us was praying while Paul was driving.
Because he has his heart set on me, I will deliver him; I will protect him because he knows my name. When he calls out to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will rescue him and give him honor. I will satisfy him with a long life and show him my salvation. (Psalm 91:14-16)
How has your week been? Let me know in the comments!

I hope you get your stuff lined out with the van soon! That sounds like a scary incident and being out of town I’m sure really complicated things. Thankfully your family was nearby. I’m so glad Paul is fine and that your van will be back in action soon. Your Spring Break sounded great. You did it! Your first Spring Break is in the books 🙂
