I’ve always loved the color green. Both my high school bedroom and my dorm room were decorated with shades of green and white. I shared my first apartment, but all of my allocated decorating space was covered in green – this time with pink accents. Marriage caused me to move into a more neutral bedroom palette, and although turquoise is my go-to shade these days, I still find myself drawn to green. I recently learned the importance of incorporating a new color for summer, so I decided to indulge my love of green ever so slightly in my living room.
If you’ve read this blog for a while, I’m sure you’ll recognize this spot in my home. This entry table is a focal point from the kitchen, dining area and in the living room, so I like to change things around seasonally. My inspiration for this project came from a lovely printable I discovered on Pinterest.

The pop of turquoise ties into the rest of my living room colors, and the green embellishments are just enough to perk up the whole area. I love placing reminders from God’s Word around the house.
The second pop of green comes from this darling plate that I picked up a few years ago in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.
On the other side I placed some silk peonies in a teapot that belonged to my Grandmother. I use those candle holders constantly in my home – on one table or another. They’re so versatile!
I’ve decorated the entry table at least six different ways in the past year – and I’m not really a decorator, so this is exciting! You can see that I’ve used some of the same basic pieces over and over. It doesn’t take much to put a little seasonal fun into your decor.

Do you have a central spot in your home that you decorate seasonally?
You are a girl after my own heart!! I love decorating for the seasons. Summer is the hardest for me as I do not have many “summery” items. I always look at summer as a rest for the eyes before I gear up for Autumn and Christmas.:) Although I am thinking that this year I am scaling back on my Autumnal decor but for Christmas I will go ALL OUT as usual!!
