1// Girl Scout Cookies are here! Paul and I are major Thin Mint lovers…a couple years ago we ordered TWO CASES so we’d have enough to last us well past the spring. This year I picked up our standard order of five Thin Mints and one box of Peanut Butter Patties…as you can see, I didn’t even wait until after the picture to open that box of peanut butter. Yum.
2// I filmed my first “empties” video! This one features all the makeup, hair and skin care products I used up during the winter. You can see it right here.
3// Last weekend I started yet another Janette Oke book – A Woman Named Damaris. It was so good that I almost couldn’t put it down. I finished it in less than 24 hours, something I haven’t done since high school. Have you read anything that good lately? I hated for it to end!
4// Confession: I’m a major germ freak. Last night at the grocery store I started to hand the cashier my keys so she could swipe my loyalty card. She finished applying her lip balm (using her finger to dip into the pot of balm, then wiping it across her lips), coughed into her hand, sniffed and reached for my keys. Horrifying. I pulled my keys back and asked as nicely as I could, “Is it okay if I just swipe my card for you?” She was a little puzzled by my request but nodded yes. Whew. I don’t want lip glossy germs on my keys, do you? Anybody else like that?
5// I randomly checked my Saving Star balance and saw I had accumulated over $5! Saving Star allows you to cash out once you reach the $5 mark, so I immediately transferred that little stash right over to my PayPal. It’s only been in the last couple months that I’ve remembered to use that app (I usually just do Ibotta) so that was a fun little surprise!
That’s it for me! Have a lovely weekend!

I’m such a thin mints fan too, but we’ve avoided purchasing anything this year. We kept them in the freezer to make them extra crunchy and, in theory, slow down how quickly you could consume them 🙂 In theory… HAHA! Loved your empties video!! And while I’m not as anti-germ, that whole chap stick, cough key scenario would have made me shudder. If you run a cash register, why would you choose to use lip gloss that in a pot and use with your finger anyway?? Gross!!

I know, right?! Even if that was “the only chapstick you had,” you work 3 inches from a whole display of $1 tube chapsticks. No excuse. 🙂

Yum! We bought a couple packages of Girl Scout cookies this week too. My husband always gets the peanut butter ones and I usually get the thin mints, but this year I switched it up and got the sonomas instead. My husband couldn’t believe I didn’t buy the thin mints this year. 🙂 I really enjoyed your Empties video. I cut off the ends of my containers so I can get the last bits of lotion and face wash too! Have a great weekend!

I’m not surprised that you chop off the ends of your containers…frugal girls, unite! 🙂 What? No Thin Mints? LOL. Enjoy your non-thin mint cookies. 🙂

I’m a MAJOR germ freak too! There was a point in my life when I wasn’t and I was sick ALL the time so I became a HUGE germ freak (even more than before after that “dirty phase”) and now I won’t share anything with anybody! xx adaatude.com

Yay girl scout cookies!! I don’t think you’re a germ freak. That cashier’s behavior was gross!

Thanks…yeah I was pretty grossed out! She looked really young and also as if she would rather be at home in bed. Bless.

They haven’t started selling girl scout cookies here in the Northwest (at least not that I’ve seen!) but I will have to be on the lookout for them! Thin Mints and the peanut butter cookies (which are called Tagalongs here in the NW! I had not idea they were called Peanut Butter Patties elsewhere!)
I am a total germ freak as well! I would have done the same thing! I always carry hand sanitizer with me!
Hope you have a great weekend!

Last year at this time we happened to stop by a Walmart in another town early on a Saturday morning. When we came out of the store, Girl Scouts were setting up a table to sell cookies right outside the store. Of course we had to get some. We watched in amazement as people pulled into the Walmart lot to buy cookies. It was almost like a drive-through for Girl Scout cookies!

My husband is also a thin mint hoarder. Maybe yall should start a club!! He just opened the last box from the freezer so he promptly went out and bought a new supply. I am not a germaphobe but i think you were wise to offer to swipe it!!lol….As a matter of fact, one of the reasons we tend to get sick is because our immunity is not built up In other words Americans are TOO clean in many instances! ( That is my old nurse rant for the day!!).

Haha – the official Thin Mint fan club! 🙂 I developed my germ-avoiding practice in college when there were SO many germs flying around the dorm. I’m not as bad as I used to be! 🙂

We haven’t bought any Girl Scout cookies this year so your stash looks extra delicious. I’m craving some Thin Mints so I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled for girls selling them this weekend. Glad you avoided the awkward situation of having to hand over your keys. At Meijer you just type in your phone number and password so no one ever has to hand over their keys 🙂 Hope you have a great weekend!
