I can’t believe it’s been almost two months since my last week in review post! I wrote Friday recap posts for three years and decided to take a break from doing them every single week. It wasn’t my intention to skip two months – I just had other things I wanted to share with you! I’m back today with a recap of all the things I’ve been doing and loving recently!
Watching:
- The Crown – I was so excited for this to be released on Netflix! I love everything that has to do with the Royals, and five episodes in I have NOT been disappointed! Anyone else loving this show?
- White Collar – this was one of our favorite shows to watch together, so this summer we started watching it again from the beginning. Love. This. Show. We only have three episodes left!
Eating:
- I learned to like oatmeal! I’ve never been a fan, but last month I started eating it for breakfast here and there. Although the first few bowls were impossible to finish, I found a consistency I like. How do you eat your oatmeal?
Wearing:
- On my nails: China Glaze “Define Good.” It’s everything I love about fall shades!
- On my lips: I’m loving the combo of a neutral lipstick underneath my deep berry shades. It’s the perfect every day look without being too bright or too dull!
Doing:
- Holiday planning! I’m in full Thanksgiving mode (which I’m sure you know if you have followed the blog lately). Tonight I’m headed to pick up a good bit of my Thanksgiving groceries so I can get a head start on some baking. Yay!
- Christmas Shopping! I try to get all my in-store shopping done before Thanksgiving so I don’t have to fight the crowds once December hits. I have a few “ship to store” items to pick up this weekend and my Christmas gift spreadsheet is filling out nicely!
Wishing:
- That the weather would catch up with the season! It’s been pretty warm here still this week and I’m ready to wear boots. Maybe I should just lower my expectations for fall in South Carolina because I say this every November. 🙂
- For a little bit of calm. Things were so crazy this week – on the internet and in real life – that I’m ready to be unplugged for a bit. I’m planning to log out of Facebook this weekend and see if I regret it come Monday. I don’t think I will. 🙂
Have a lovely weekend!
Linking up with High Five For Friday, Friday Favorites, and Five on Friday
I so much enjoy your blog posts and your videos on YouTube. I find your ideas and thoughts very uplifting and positive.
My partner and I were having such difficulty finding something we both enjoy on Netflix, but I think we’ll try White Collar – it definitely looks good!
I think I might go back to eating oatmeal again starting tomorrow. I’ll usually have it with cream, brown sugar and raisins or dried fruit.
I really like your outfit ideas!
Happy Thanksgiving!

White Collar was a success! Thanks for the recommendation. We now have a good Netflix show to look forward to after dinner and can curl up on the sofa and watch it together. 🙂

Quaker Instant Oatmeal is my go-to. Can’t stand the kind made on the stove in a pan! I love the fruity Peaches & Cream, Strawberries & Cream, etc., and the Apple Cinnamon. The consistency gets odd, so I sometimes put the water in the oatmeal, let it sit, then throw the bowl in the microwave a bit to cook it until it fluffs up. I’m not a fan of thin, runny oatmeal, and it doesn’t feel like I’m eating anything that way. Haha! 😉
Our Nebraska weather has been very warm this November, too. I only wore a scarf once this fall, but that’s changing now. Cold weather is not my thing, but I don’t like the heat, either. Wish it could stay about 50 degrees all winter!

I’ve been enjoying those flavored instant oatmeals too! And I’m with you, I’d rather have it more cooked than less cooked. Can’t do the runny stuff.

I don’t love oatmeal, but I do really like baked oatmeal. I also like that I can make up a pan on Monday morning and eat on it all week. I should really do that tomorrow actually :P.

I’ve heard several people recommend The Crown lately! I bet I’d love it 🙂 Oatmeal is so tricky and consistency is huge. I like instant oatmeal a little on the thick side. I buy the maple + brown sugar and then add in my favorite. I usually stir in a T of peanut butter and sprinkle a few chocolate chips on top. It’s delicious! Even my toddler loves it 🙂 I also love the cinnamon roll instant oatmeal.

I think you would like The Crown – you get a good feel for what it’s like to live in Buckingham Palace. Thanks for the oatmeal mix-in suggestions!

I’ve been tempted to binge, but I don’t have a long enough attention span! 🙂

I’m not a huge fan of oatmeal either. I’ve found I like it best with a Tablespoon of peanut butter mixed in – it changes the consistency and I love the flavor. A little maple syrup from time to time is yummy, too. Hope you are having a terrific weekend!

I don’t think anyone sleeps with their closest doors open. THAT WOULD BE STRANGE!! And I would go back in time and see Elvis. I adore Elvis.

I love fresh fruit – (strawberries, blueberries, or bananas) in my oatmeal, brown sugar, a handful of nuts and a little milk! Also, that picture of Peggy is adorable!

The crown is on my to-watch list this weekend. Please tell me your oatmeal secret! I don’t mind oatmeal cookies and things but the consistency always gets me. Jess at Just Jess

Yeah, the consistency is hard to get used to. I’m eating instant oatmeal in the little packets – I cook it for 2 minutes in the microwave, and that makes it thick enough to swallow. LOL.

Consistency has been the reason I could not eat oatmeal Whitney. It just gags me. What kind are you eating??? Maybe I would like it. I want to see The Crown…I love all things Royal.:)

I’m eating instant oatmeal – it has to be flavored with fruit. I like the cinnamon raisin the best, I think.

It would be a great show to watch all at once if you were home sick (or recovering from dental surgery…). 🙂
