1// As a homebody, Christmas tops the charts as my favorite time of year. I love seeing the glow from my Christmas trees all over the house – even the little one I put in the bedroom. It’s so cozy!
2// Four years ago yesterday, Paul surprised me with an early Christmas gift – whatever kitten I wanted from the local shelter! My sister and I headed off to bring her home…and came home with TWO little balls of pitiful, helpless fluff. I wasn’t blogging back then, so I don’t have a lot of pictures of them as kittens here on the blog. You’ll have to indulge me for a minute (and who doesn’t love kittens?). Here are a few of my favorite pictures from first few weeks we had them at home. Weren’t they precious?
3// My new planner arrived! I bought a Happy Planner during Michaels’ Cyber Monday sale and have been playing around with it this week. I think it will be perfect for 2017!
4// Did you see these ornaments in my Christmas decor tour? I received them from Beth, who was my partner for the Holiday Ornament Exchange. Beth absolutely made my day with the two ornaments she sent. When it comes to things I love, cats and lipstick are right up there at the top of my list! Head over to Beth’s blog to see what I sent her!
5// This weekend I’m so excited to get in the kitchen for some Christmas baking! I’m making Peppermint Oreo Truffles, Aurey Nut Balls and Puppy Chow. It will be a yummy weekend! (All the recipes are on my Christmas Pinterest Board)
Are you doing anything festive this weekend?

Thanks for sharing your kitten photos! It’s fun to look back, and furbabies are so darling! Which type of Puppy Chow did you make? I did the traditional peanut butter/chocolate kind for Christmas, and my uncle went wild. It was so funny! I didn’t know he’d ever tried it before. 🙂

Aww, thanks for enjoying my kitten pics! 🙂 I made the regular puppy chow with peanut butter and chocolate, but I added a Tablespoon of cocoa powder in the powdered sugar. It was a nice little twist.

Aaawww so fun to see the ornaments at home on your tree. Once we found the cat one we were so thrilled to see that it looked so similar to one of your kitties. I hope you are having a great Sunday!

Hi Whitney! I recently found your blog, and I love it! I work outside the home too (I’m a teacher), but have always found contentment in homemaking tasks. Thanks for showing me that it IS possible to do both!
I’m on the hunt for a new planner after trying bullet-journaling and found that it just wasn’t working for me. Would you mind sharing what kind of Happy planner you got? There are so many size/date options!

Hi, Rebecca! I’m so glad to meet you! Yes, it is absolutely possible to make a home for your family while working outside the home. ❤ I will have a post and video all about my planning system (with all the deets on the new planner) before the end of the year, but I can tell you that I have the weekly/monthly vertical Happy Planner. I am loving it!

That’s so funny because four years ago “Santa” brought my kids two kittens….actually all the supplies and stuffed kitten animals with a note that told them that Mommy and Daddy would bring them to the shelter so they could each pick out a kitten. We have a black cat and a tabby cat. I will be baking cookies as well this weekend since we have our supper club cookie exchange and pizza night! Have a great weekend!
